A Note from the Directors: Welcome to another year of fun-filled events! Each spring hundreds of mature adults 50 and older anticipate the Fulton Golden Games. This year celebrates the 23rd Annual Fulton Golden Games. Over the years, the games have been an avenue for participants to begin or continue their competitive journey to a healthier lifestyle. We have shared a lot of great memories together, and we thank you for your interest and continued participation. On this day we will hold all of the field day events, including the mile walk, shot put throw, discus and more. Other Fulton Golden Games events include: Billiards Tournament at Main Event Entertainment, Trivia Challenge at Park Place at Newtown School, and the Bowling Tournament at Stars and Strikes. Additional Information: Purpose: The Fulton Golden Games provides adults fifty and older an opportunity to participate in a variety of sports competitions and games of skill, meet new people, learn new leisure skills, and become more aware of recreational activities available to them. Age: Age will be determined by the participant s age as of April 9, 2017. Events will be divided into men s and women s divisions, and age groups where appropriate. Date of birth must be included on the application form. Awards: Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals will be awarded to first, second, and third place winners in men s and women s divisions. Cancellation Policy: The Fulton Golden Games reserves the right to combine age groups or to cancel any event due to insufficient registration, inclement weather, and unusual or extenuating circumstances. Fulton Golden Games Art Event Showcase New for 2017 we are introducing 3 new art events. These new events will give the artists and want to be artists amongst us the opportunity to participate in the games in a whole new way. Everyone wants to take a few pictures of their friends participating in the games, why not enter them into the Photo Challenge? Been painting for years or just started? Join us for the paint out. Do an interesting art or craft and want an opportunity to showcase your unique talents? We invite you to Share with us. Each event is outlined below and we hope you will join us in this new Arts Challenge. Questions? Info? Email: arts@alpharetta.ga.us. Subject: FGG Art Questions. Cell-Phone Memories Challenge Entry Rules. -Participants may enter up to 3 photos per event, Per day. (example: 3 events x 3 photos = 9 photos from that day) -All Photos must be taken with cell phone cameras only -All Photos must be unfiltered and other wise unaltered after the fact, with the exception of cropping. (honor system) -Photos must be emailed to arts@alpharetta.ga.us by 4pm the day of event. If event goes past 4pm on any given day photos must be in by 9am the following morning. -Subject of email must be in the following format to be considered. FGG Photo, Name of event, your name. -Photos must be in.jpg format. -You will receive a confirmation email after your first entry. There will be no confirmation emails after that. -Jurors reserve the right to disqualify any photo that they believe to be manipulated, or otherwise breaks rules.) -Photos may be taken at any FGG event throughout the games until MAY 19th. -25 finalists will be selected and printed for display. From those the 1st, 2nd, 3rd place medals will be presented. Paint Out Entry Rules. -Participants are asked to paint paintings that represent the 'Inspiration" of the games. -Using 16x20 canvas provided only, each painter will have from opening ceremonies until 12pm on Friday May 5th to create a completed painting. -Paintings may be of any subject and any artistic style. Judges reserve the right to disqualify any painting due to objectionable material. example: Nudity, Profanity, etc. -Except for using the canvas provided (a requirement) paintings may be created with any materials the artist wishes to use. -15 finalists will be selected and wired for display. From those the 1st, 2nd, 3rd place medals will be awarded for "Best Painting Technique & Best illustration of the theme." categories. Arts and Crafts Invitational Entry Rules. -Participants may enter up to 3 original Artworks and Crafts. -Artwork should be created in the last year -Each work should be accompanied by a artist statement that explains basic process and inspiration for the work. -Art work must be completed and turned in by May 19th -Judges reserve the right to disqualify any artwork due to objectionable material. example: Nudity, Profanity, etc. -Work may be done with any materials the Artist wishes to use, and must be original in origin.
