Engine Cockpit Control Panel Battery Switch Never turn any battery switch off while engine is running! Engine Hour Meter Fuel Gauge Ignition/Start Glow Plug Throttle Shift Shift at idle speeds only! Engine Starting Warning! Never turn the battery switch to OFF while the engine is running! Stop Engine Starboard aft end of the cockpit combing, containing a tachometer, an engine temperature gauge, a fuel gauge, a volt meter, an ignition key switch, engine start button and an engine stop knob. Located behind cushion on port settee. #1 House #2 Engine Aft cabin starboard, mounted on bulkhead (Look to your left while looking in aft cabin, meter is mounted low on wood partition/bulkhead) Below engine control panel. Turn ignition key switch clockwise then push black start button. None: N/A Silver lever on starboard side of steering pedestal. Vertical for idle. Forward for speed. Silver lever on port side of steering pedestal. Back for reverse. Forward for forward. 1. Disconnect shore power. Turn Battery Switch to ALL 2. Make sure shift is in neutral, throttle 50%, ignition on, engine stop handle/knob in completely. 3. Turn ignition. 4. Push and hold black start button until engine starts. If engine does not start within 5 sec., recheck that step 2 was performed exactly and retry. 5. Check the engine exhaust at the bottom of the transom to see that water is being exhausted out. Black knob on Engine Control panel; pull out to stop engine. After engine has stopped, push Black knob back in, turn key to off position and remove to a safe location. Dipstick Check oil only if necessary. On the Starboard side of engine. Remove companionway steps, to starboard side, find dipstick under fuel filter.

Electrical 2 Electrical Panels Battery Switch Never turn any battery switch off while engine is running! Pedestal Cluster Instruments There are 2 panels controlling power on board. Panels are located in the port aft cabin. Panel to port is 120 Volt AC and is labeled 120v AC Shore Power Breakers on this panel all 120 volt systems on board and is powered by shore power only. This system only operates when shore power is plugged in and the Master Breaker is toggle ON. The starboard Panel is 12 volt DC and is labeled DC Power. Switches on panel controls all 12 volt systems on board when House Battery switch is on 1 or Both. Located behind cushion on port settee. #1 House #2 Engine To activate the pedestal cluster instruments. 1. Turn on the House Batteries switch (SEE: Battery Switches ) 2. On the 12v DC Battery Power panel toggle on the GPS and Radar breakers. There are 2 methods for charging the batteries on board. Battery Charging Both batteries require 2 to 4 hours to recharge when charge levels are low. Monitor battery levels frequently! (SEE: Monitoring Batteries ) At the end of charter, leave battery switch on ALL! Shore Power: 1. Plug in Shore Power cord at the receptacle on the port side of the aft cockpit. Make sure it s plugged in and the AC breaker switch is ON at the Dock Box. 2. On the AC power panel toggle on the Master Breaker. 3. Toggle on the Battery Charger breaker. Red lights next to these breakers should be lit. NOTE: It is not necessary for battery switches to be ON for batteries to charge by this method. Charging Batteries with Engine: 1. Turn battery switch ON. 2. Turn House Batteries switch to BOTH. 3. Start the engine (See: Engine Starting). Let the engine run until it has warmed up. 4. Adjust the Throttle lever (SEE: Throttle ) until the tachometer (SEE: Engine Control Instruments) is between 1500 and 1800 rpm. After batteries are charged and engine is off, turn Engine Start switch OFF. Monitoring Batteries Monitor battery levels frequently when using 12 volt services! After charter: leave battery switch on ALL and battery charger toggle ON. Method for monitoring battery level: NOTE: It is NOT necessary for battery switches to be ON to monitor batteries. Located forward of galley, see analog battery monitor. Switch to left to check start battery, right for house battery. Battery Location House Battery: 1 deep cycle battery located under port settee. Start Battery: 1 battery located under port settee (with House Battery).

Jib Sail 3 Jib 120% Genoa. Roller furling line on port side. A slight amount of tension on the furling line while unrolling will make it easier to roll back up. Mainsail Raising Mainsail Dousing Mainsail Before You Leave the Dock 1. Unzip lazy cradle all the way or leave 6 inches. 2. Attach main halyard 3. Ready halyard on winch After Leaving the Dock 1. Must be dead into the wind; keep boom lined up with the wind. 2. As you raise the mainsail WATCH to see nothing is tangled. 3. BE CAREFUL! Best to stop after a few feet and check battens and lazy jacks are cleared. Finish raising sail. Must be dead into the wind; keep boom lined up with the wind. 1. Flake out main halyard so it can run free. 2. Open front of lazy cradle. 3. Open jam cleat with halyard on winch, boom a bit loose, not tight. 4. Release halyard from winch dropping main into cradle as fast as possible. 5. Tighten boom over center of boat. 6. Pull back on sail to tidy up the folds (can wait until in dock or on mooring). 7. Put reef line at clew in cradle. 8. Hold tail of zipper tight with one hand and zip up with the other hand most of the way. 9. Remove halyard; goes on shroud cleat. 10. Finish zipping cradle, and if front is open, zip it up. Tankage Water Tanks Tank capacity: 20 gallons Located in bow, under the V-berth. Tank fill is in anchor locker. Fuel Tank Do not leave fuel filler nozzle unattended when fueling! Tank Capacity 20 gallons. The tank is located under the quarter berth bunk. Fuel filler cap is located on the port side, aft, on the cockpit combing. Tank vent is on port side of the transom. Holding Tank On discrepancy report that zip-tie has been cut. Staff will install new tie. Located in head under cabinet. Capacity: 15 gallons The pump out cap is located on the port side, main deck, outboard. To pump out at pump out station no valves need to be opened. Pump out at sea: 1. Under the forward port settee you ll see 3 red handle valves, cut the zip-tie labeled Holding Tank Discharge clockwise. 2. Pump black handle on manual pump until tank is empty. Pump will loose pressure when empty. 3. Return valve to closed position.

Head 4 Operations Nothing goes in the bowl that has not been consumed first except marine toilet paper! Make sure Head Intake valve is open. The valve is open if the handle is perpendicular to the hull. 1. On the right side of the bowl is the pump and handle. 2. On the front of the pump is a selector valve with Dry & Flush on its face. 3. Pump the handle to wet the bowl. 4. After use, pump the handle 8 to 10 to empty the bowl. 5. When bowl is empty, turn the selector to the Dry position and pump handle until the bowl is dry. General Notes To operate the stove: Stove When stove is not in use and at the end of cruise, turn off all switches and valves! 1. Turn on the propane tank located in the starboard aft lazarette by turning valve on top of the tank counter clockwise until valve is fully open. 2. Make sure House Battery switch is ON. 3. Located below the galley sink is a LPG control switch. Toggle to ON position until a red light comes on. 4. On the stove select the burner knob to be used. 5. On the right side of the stove is a button labeled Burner Ignite. Press and hold button in. You will hear a snapping of the igniter. 6. Turn the selected burner knob to Ign.. Press knob in and hold until burner is lit. Hold knob in for 10 seconds to allow temp. sensor to warm up. Release the burner knob and turn knob to desired setting. NOTE: If burner does not light, check tank for contents (should weigh about 35 lbs full). Repeat steps 1 thru 6. Autopilot 1. Toggle on breaker at DC control Panel labeled Autopilot. 2. Interface on starboard combing forward of engine control panel. 3. Adjust angle of sail to desired course and set AUTO. 4. Turn to STANDBY for adjustment of course. This unit is located aft of the galley stove. To activate the refrigerator/icebox: Refrigerator/ Icebox Monitor battery levels often when using this unit! 1. Turn on the House Batteries switch (SEE: Battery Switches) to position Both. On the 12v DC Battery Power panel toggle on the Refrigerator breaker. 2. Inside of the refrigerator/icebox on the upper inboard corner is a small panel with a temperature control knob. 3. DO NOT ADJUST TEMPERATURE CONTROL ABOVE 2. THIS UNIT DRAWS A HIGH LOAD FROM THE BATTERIES.
