19 & 20 FEBRUARY 2011 VENUE Brisbane Aquatic Centre, Corner Old Cleveland Road & Tilley Road, Chandler ELIGIBILITY Swimmers must be a registered member of a club affiliated with Brisbane Swimming Association. Swimmers meeting this requirement who do not have Australian Citizenship may compete as visitors. Members of overseas swimming federations are ineligible (refer to the BSA website for further information). It is the responsibility of each club to verify the eligibility of swimmers nominated by them. AGE Age group of competitors for the Championships is the age as at the first day of competition (i.e. 19 February 2011). Athletes cannot swim up an age in individual events. EVENTS As per the attached Program of Events. Heats will be swum in all events, with finals to follow in the same session, with the exception of events for 8 year-olds, which will be conducted as timed finals. RULES All BSA General Rules and Championship By-Laws apply. PHOTOS In nominating for these Championships, swimmers agree that they may be photographed by Brisbane Swimming s approved photographer; that the images may be displayed for viewing and purchasing on site during the Championships and on the photographer s secure website after the Championships; and that they may also be used by the BSA in its publications and on its website. ENTRIES All nominations are to be submitted by Club Race Secretaries via Team Manager or on the latest BSA Nomination Form, with all entries in BLOCK letters. Go to www.brisswim.org.au for a downloadable program of events for TM/MM or for a nomination form. No nominations from individuals will be accepted. The TM Entry File, TM Meet Entries Report (showing proof of time) & the TM Meet Entry Fees Reports (both reports saved as a pdf) are to be emailed to entries@brisswim.org.au. Hard copies of TM reports are to be posted along with a cheque to the Brisbane Swimming office prior to the closing date. Note: Please make sure before submitting TM entries your correct TM Club code is used (if unsure of proper club code please contact the Brisbane office on 3823 5683) and that the Athlete ID has been built correctly in TM i.e., John Smith (ID-SMIJO170993). BSA Nomination Forms are to be posted to the Brisbane Swimming Office along with the correct payment, prior to the closing date.

Incomplete BSA Nomination Forms or TM Entries will NOT be accepted and will attract an administration fee of $5.00. Please ensure ALL details including PLACE AND DATE QUALIFYING TIME WAS ACHIEVED are completed. Any nomination submitted with a time slower than the relevant qualifying time will not be accepted and the nomination fee will be forfeited. Qualifying times must have been achieved since 1 January 2010. Entries will not be accepted unless the qualifying times (as listed) have been swum at a specified long course meet prior to the Championships closing date. Short course or converted short course times, club nights, club championships, time trial times, and no times (NT) are not acceptable. A penalty of two premiership points will apply to clubs whose swimmers do not make qualifying times. The penalty for each breach will apply where a swimmer does not make the qualifying time at the meet and cannot produce evidence of having achieved it prior to the meet. Appeals in writing will be heard by the Board of Management at their discretion. Qualifying Times do not apply to Multi-Class events. Multi-Class swimmers may nominate for Multi-Class events only, where provided. Where there is no Multi-Class event, swimmers may nominate for events in their age group, but must meet the qualifying times. Multi Class Swimmers classification code should be clearly written on the TM print out or BSA Nomination Form. ENTRY FEES & CLOSING DATES: TM Nominations: (GST Inclusive): Paper Nominations (GST inclusive) $7.50 per event $8.50 per event All nominations are to be addressed to: The Administration Officer Brisbane Swimming Association PO Box 1285 CAPALABA BC QLD 4157 The closing date for nominations will be Monday, 31 January 2011. Late nominations will be accepted up to ½ an hour prior to the commencement of the first day of the events competition - late entry fee $50.00 per event. individual Race secretaries are advised to display a Team Manager Nomination listing on the Club notice board, to allow swimmers to ensure that their nominations are correct. REFUNDS Refunds will only be given on receipt of a medical certificate received in the Association s office with a request no later than the Friday following the swim meet. PREMIERSHIP POINTS Points will be awarded in all Divisions. MEDALS Medals will be awarded to the first three placegetters in the 9, 10, 11 & 12 years events from the FINALS. Finalist ribbons will be awarded to the remaining swimmers in each final. There will be no finals for the 8 year-old events. The swimmers who gain the three fastest times from the 8year-old events will be awarded medals, with the next 7 timeplaced swimmers receiving finalist ribbons.

MULTI-CLASS EVENTS If there is more than one heat of Multi-Class Events 3,4,13,14,27,28,35 & 36 the final heat of each event will be swum as a timed final in conjunction with all other finals. AGGREGATE AWARDS Aggregate (Towel) Awards will be presented to the male and female of each Age Group who obtains the highest number of points from all events within their own Age Group events. The Multi-Class swimmer, either male or female, with the best performance will also be presented with a towel award. WITHDRAWALS The 12 fastest qualifiers in an event must marshal for the final of that event. Finalists and reserves wishing to be withdrawn from a final shall do so in writing and signed by his/her authorized representative Coach or adult responsible for that swimmer) within 15 minutes following the completion of the heats of the event in which the qualification took place. Withdrawal forms will be available in the Marshalling room An entrant not having withdrawn as described above who does not marshal for the event shall be deemed a late withdrawal, and the swimmer s Club will be penalised 2 premiership points, except where there are medical reasons or proven hardship. Any swimmer not qualifying in the top 12 and not wishing to swim in the final if there are withdrawals must also submit a withdrawal form. CLUB TIMEKEEPERS Each club with swimmers in any session will be required to supply officials for timekeeping and other pool deck duties regardless of the number of swimmers in that session. Club rosters will be forwarded during the week prior to the commencement of the championships. SPECIAL NOTES An invitation is extended to Officials from any Club nominating swimmers for this Meet to join us on Pool Deck during the Meet to officiate.
