George Mason swept Harvard in Fairfax, Va. as the Patriots earned the top seed for the EIVA Championship Tournament and will serve as hosts for the event. Princeton swept Penn State in University Park, Pa. on Friday as the Tigers earned their first-ever road victory against the Nittany Lions. Charleston (W. Va.) finished the season with five league wins, the most-ever by the program since they joined the EIVA in the 2016 season. Harvard will take on Penn State in Semi-Final #1 at 5 p.m. in Fairfax, Va. on Thursday, April 19th while George Mason will battle Princeton at 7:30 p.m. in Semi-Final #2. The winners from each match will face off in the 2018 EIVA Championship match at 7 p.m. in Fairfax, Va. on Saturday, April 21st.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK George Huhmann Princeton 6-11 MB Sophomore St. Louis, Mo. Sophomore George Huhmann has been selected as the EIVA Offensive Player of the Week after recording 42 kills for Princeton as he averaged 5.3 kills/set and hit.429. Huhmann led the offense for the Tigers to a 3-0 sweep at Penn State on Friday, the program s first-ever win on the road against the Nittany Lions, as George recorded 19 kills on a.531 hitting percentage. The following day he would record 23 kills and hit.356 in a five-set loss at Saint Francis (Pa.). In addition Huhmann also had three service aces while recording 10 digs and four total blocks on the defensive end. At the end of the regular season George is ranked 1st within the EIVA in kills (372), kills/set (3.65), solo blocks (25), and total blocks (105) while ranked 4th in block assists (80) and blocks per set (1.03), and 6th in hitting percentage (.289). This is George s third EIVA Offensive Player of the Week selection in 2018. DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK Will Calaman George Mason 5-8 Libero Junior Virginia Beach, Va. Junior Will Calaman has been selected as the EIVA Defensive Player of the Week after recording 15 digs in a 3-1 win against Harvard in the last match of the season. Calaman also added four assists in the match as he averaged 3.75 digs per set against the Crimson.
