RACE 1: 3YO Maiden Plate 1000m: Dukati Began awkwardly. Hampered approaching the 100m. Givem Hell Declared a late scratching by order of stewards, acting on veterinary advice, at 1.15pm after the filly kicked out in the barriers and got its near hind leg caught behind the hind gates and was found to be favouring that leg and to have sustained superficial lacerations to it. Stewards ordered that all wagers on the gelding be refunded and that all successful wagers placed with bookmakers prior to 1.15pm be subject to the following deductions in the dollar on the face value of the ticket, 12 cents the win and 3 cents the place for 1st (Proof Pefect), 23 cents the place for 2nd (Ganassi) and 22 cents the place for 3 rd (The Ridge). Trainer Mr T. Edmonds was advised that the filly requires a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to its next race start. Glamorous Miss Slow to begin. Hampered approaching the 100m and steadied after improving onto heels shortly after. Mosserati Bumped shortly after the start. Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Niccendi Passing the 400m was steadied after laying out on to heels. Unable to be tested over the final 75m when held up on heels. Proof Perfect Blundered on jumping and bumped shortly after. Overraced approaching the first turn. The Ridge Shifted in between the 200m and 100m. Hampered approaching the 50m by Ganassi which shifted out. As stewards were satisfied there were no grounds for objection, correct weight was declared. RACE 2: Maiden Plate 1600m: Ausbred Trump Slow to begin (2L). 1
Caldera Girl Slow to begin. Unable to be tested over the final 100m when held up on heels. Interventions Blundered on jumping. Raced wide in the early and middle stages. A post race veterinary examination of the gelding did not reveal any abnormality. Steppin Out Inclined to pull in the early and middle stages. Tan Tat Wish Overraced in the early stages. Momentarily eased from heels approaching the 200m. The Last Road Inclined to pull in the early stages. Wicked Heights (NZ) Overraced in the early and middle stages. Shortly after straightening was momentarily eased from the heels of Pole Volter which shifted out slightly. Jockey A. Allen (Pole Volter) was asked to exercise more care in similar circumstances. Winkler (NZ) - Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Inclined to overrace in the early stages. Hampered near the 700m. RACE 3: Maiden Handicap 1300m: Grande Casadora Steadied after improving onto heels passing the 700m. Latino Lover Bumped shortly after the start. Unable to improve between the 400m and 200m when held up on heels. Look Out Boy Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Bumped outwards near the 100m. My Cousin Meryl Overraced rounding the first turn. Raced wide in the early stages. Osmond Carried wider passing the 900m. Raced wide from this point. Our Blanc Canvas (NZ) Hampered and carried wider passing the 900m. Shifted out and bumped another runner near the 200m. Red Zabella Approaching the 100m was steadied after shifting in and becoming awkwardly placed on heels. Sepoy s Choice Eased after improving onto heels approaching the 400m. The Socialist Overraced approaching and rounding the first turn. Laid out rounding the home turn. Wear the Fox Hat - Bumped shortly after the start. RACE 4: Class 2 Handicap 1400m: 2
All Hype Bumped shortly after start. Carrs Creek Kid Hampered shortly after the start. Dandy Toff Blundered on jumping and bumped shortly after. Flinders Dragon Slow to begin. Onemoretwoless Slow to begin. Our Boy Ben Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Hung in over the final 500m and was unable to be significantly tested by its rider down the straight. A post race veterinary examination of the gelding did not reveal any abnormality. Trainer Mr R. Pilling was advised that the gelding is required to barrier trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to its next race start. Trainer Mr R. Pilling was issued a reprimand for removing the gelding from the saddling paddock within half an hour of the race finish (AR117(3)). Ritchford Slow to begin. Riva Encore (NZ) Began awkwardly and bumped another runner. RACE 5: Class 1 Handicap 1000m: Bring Your Ay Game Hampered on jumping. Crooked Gent Buffeted on jumping. Dextor Dutton Bumped near the 200m. Dux Nutz Slow to begin. Approaching the 200m was momentarily hampered by General Nelson which shifted out. Jockey Ms B. Stower (General Nelson) was asked to exercise more care in similar circumstances. Unable to be fully tested between the 200m and 100m when racing in restricted room. Unable to be tested over the concluding stages when held up on heels. Falsified Buffeted on jumping. Unable to be tested over the final 200m when held up on heels. Harbour Trick Unable to be fully tested between the 200m and 100m when held up on heels. Checked after improving onto heels near the 100m. Unable to be tested for the remainder of the event when held up on heels. General Nelson Shortly after straightening became held up and was unable to improve until shifting out around heels near the 150m. Gohardonhula Bumped near the 200m. Approaching the 50m was steadied when buffeted between Crooked Gent, which laid in slightly, and Dextor Dutton which ran out after being bumped outwards by Gohardonhula which shifted out. Jockey R. Spokes (Gohardonhula) was issued a reprimand (AR137(a)). Jockey Ms B. Hodder (Dextor Dutton) was asked to make greater effort to correct her mounts in similar circumstances. Wainui Gold (NZ) Unable to be tested over the final 100m when held up on heels. RACE 6: Benchmark 60 Handicap 1000m: Aquajewel Bumped shortly after the start. Baggio Jockey R. Plumb was fined $100 for placing the incorrect saddle cloth with his saddle (LR57). Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Best of Us Began awkwardly and bumped shortly after. Raced greenly at the entrance to the straight. Dashing Win Raced very wide in the early and middle stages. Dream Habit Jockey S. Galloway pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding, under AR137(a), in that passing the 600m he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of Aquajewel which tightened onto the running of Dream Habit which was checked and lost its rightful running. S. Galloway s license to ride in races was suspended for a period to commence on Sunday 28 January 2018 and to expire on Friday 2 February 2018 on which day he may ride. In assessing penalty stewards appreciated Siroccan Lad was inclined to lay in during the incident. Foxy Walk Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Mathieson Lane Steadied and shifted out to avoid heels passing the 600m. Mellore Bumped rounding the first turn. Bumped outwards near the 150m. Bumped and unbalanced near the 100m. Miss Parkin Slow to begin. Traconi Bumped rounding the first turn. Bumped near the 100m and over the concluding stages. RACE 7: Open Handicap 1400m: Bracteate Passing the 400m became held up on heels and rounding the home turn was steadied after improving onto heels. 4
Glitra (NZ) Inclined to overrace in the early stages. Unable to improve, and lost ground, between the 600m and 400m when held up on the heels of a weakening runner. My Cousin Jackie A post race veterinary examination of the mare did not reveal any abnormality. Ocean Grand - Inclined to overrace in the early stages. Overraced fiercely rounding the first turn. Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Laid in rounding the home turn. RACE 8: Benchmark 58 Handicap 1600m: Emvepee Bumped and unbalanced passing the 400m. When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding jockey P. Hammersley stated that his mount travelled fairly in the middle stages however failed to respond to pressure approaching the home turn and was very disappointing in its run to the line. When questioned, trainer Mr B. Hill stated that he is of the opinion the gelding appreciates more give in the track than that today and showed symptoms of having jarred up in the subsequent days. A post race veterinary examination of the gelding did not reveal any abnormality. Engraved Rounding the first turn was steadied and blundered after improving onto heels. Passing the 400m was steadied after improving into insufficient racing room. Legs Unbarred Blundered on jumping. Montrer Dame Slow to begin. Royal Receiver Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Near the 100m was steadied when tightened for room by Montrer Dame which shifted out under pressure. Apprentice J. Guthmann-Chester (Montrer Dame) was issued a severe reprimand (AR137(a)). A post race veterinary examination of the gelding did not reveal any abnormality. Youngstown Unable to improve rounding the home turn when held up on heels.
