Background Caledon East Community Improvement Plan(2014) Encourages: Revitalization and Community Improvement Pedestrian-oriented design, bicycle parking, accessibility, trailwaysand network expansion Supports: Public improvements for Dedicated cycling lanes and pathways Enhanced crossing treatments at Airport Road and Old Church Road Peel Sustainable Transportation Strategy(2017) Proposed pedestrian and cycling network Pedestrian improvements at Airport Road from Cranston Drive to Leamster Trail
Study Purpose Examine the need for: Long-term improvements related to planned future growth* Intersection improvements including roundabouts Traffic calming measures for truck and other vehicular traffic through Caledon East Infrastructure improvements for walking and cycling Streetscaping to support the Caledon East Community Improvement Plan * This study will not consider major road widening for additional through lanes along Airport Road.

Community Working Group Project ambassadors, representing: Property Owners and Residents Business Owners and Farmers Road Users (cyclists, pedestrians, drivers) To provide a balance of perspectives from: New and long-time residents Local business and agriculture Area employers and employees
Terms of Reference The CWG will: Provide input to help the Project Team identify a solution for the study area that meets the needs of the community and is technically and financially sound Share knowledge of the study area, road users and community character Be informed and engaged by asking questions throughout the study Receive feedback from community members as issues and ideas come together and serve as Ambassadors between the Project Team and the community
