We re almost in good standing with the state we need to get the April budget in BEFORE QUARTERLY. Monthly bank statements are going to the state now they are very thankful. Linda sends in monthly minutes as well. We are doing really well with The Brown Act (monthly board meetings, quorums, and agendas posted online). We are all caught up on bank statements! Vice President: Diane Forbes We re looking really good on memberships, 5 of our clubs have sent in memberships have 43 direct members as of March 14. The state is keeping Dian updated once a month on members. 6 new members this past month! Second Vice President: Sandy Cassalino Insurance is taken care of (about $339) Discussion how we will pay for it it covers 3 events, so far we have 2 shows. Divided evenly among programs, or pay by % (since E/W has most classes and events) Grace Cousins makes a motion that E/W makes 50% of the payment and the balance due is evenly divided by the remaining 3 programs (Stock/TRAP/Royalty). 2 nd by Linda Jacobsen Kalamasz

o Motion amended by Grace Cousins that E/W makes 50% of the payment and the balance due is evenly divided by the remaining programs (however many there be). 2 nd by Jim Carraher All in favor Michele Correa made a motion to pay insurance bill of $339, 2 nd by Sandy Casalino All in favor Immediate Past President: Darlene Drace n/a Treasurer: Kristine Lee General Fund $404.49 English/Western $1937.70 Gymkhana $0 Royalty $128.68 Scholarship $343.30 Stock $584.77 TRAP $183.98 ======= TOTAL $3,582.92 Secretary: Michele Correa Trying her best to be timely and attentive, but finding it difficult asking for any volunteers to take over Secretary AND/OR Show Committee Chair? Sandy Casalino will chair the Show Committee and Elaine Spotswood will co-chair. (THANK YOU VERY MUCH!) Junior Advisor - n/a Board Business Jennifer Hollister She and her daughter signed up for membership & sponsorship for 7CPHC. It was her understanding that that would also make her a member of Region 6 (correct, confirmed by Linda Jacobsen). But 7CPHC joined Region 6 only 2 or 3 weeks ago and not at the beginning of the year when she & her daughter signed up at 7CPHC. Linda Jacobsen suggested that people sign up as a Direct Member of Region 6 to avoid this situation. Dian Forbs suggests you get after your club to join CSHA to make sure you are covered. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do to make membership in CSHA Region 6 retro-active. Committee Reports: English / Western: Elaine Spotswood 16 people signed in to the program. Our 1 st show is this Sunday entries are available at the meeting. We have 3 pre-entries. Points & a copy of the premium need to be turned in to Denise Escover within 2 weeks. E/W participants must work 2 hours per show we put on. Golden State has cancelled their show for July 10 which opens the door for us to possibly have a show on that date. Elaine asking for people to sign up for hours for this weekend s show... Fred Budde will be the announcer. (THANK YOU FRED!)

Pointer Keeper: Denise Escover - n/a Royalty: still need a chairperson for the program - n/a TRAP: Diane Forbes 10 people signed up for TRAP. Dian wants a total of 20 people! Looking for new members! Stock Competition: Cody Morales Sandy Casalino representing Cody have 7 people signed up 2011 Awards Banquet: still need a chairperson for this program - n/a Club Reports: Region 10 Rachelle Lightfoot Region 10 is in the same boat we are with lack of participation, membership down, lack of volunteers, etc Last year we did a joint show which was very successful. Rachelle will not run for President next year and is trying to prepare Region 10 to be the best it can be as she exits. Ideas of having joint shows, double judged shows with 4 judges instead of 2. Asking for any other ideas of how we can work together and pull resources. Possibility of having a joint show Region 6 & 10 on July Show at Woodmyst Double point, 4 judges.? Rachelle, Elaine Spotswood & Sandy Casalino will meet after the meeting to brainstorm. Will also talk about the idea of doing a joint banquet. New meeting location We voted to have our meetings here last year, if it is an emergency situation, like the noise level of the current location, we may change it mid-year. The Morgan Hill Cultural Center at Monterey & Dunne will give is their room for free. We can have it at 7 o clock on the 4 th Tuesday. The other building is the Centennial Center on Monterey & Tennant for $15 a month. We can bring in drink, but no food. Also has Tuesday s open (as of 3 weeks ago). Motion on the floor to discuss. Heather Rottenborn makes a motion to have Linda look in to seeing if the Centennial Center still has availability on 4 th Tuesday s. 2 nd by Dian Forbes. If we can have the meeting at a new location, we will post it on the website as soon as we know. CSHA Region 6 Horse show April 3 rd, 2011at Woodmyst Farms Need to have people sign up to work hours! When we originally put the show together, we didn t have anyone who wanted to do Ranch Versatility. That is why we don t have RV at this show. We need to have someone from the Region 6 to help with Ranch Versatility and coordinate shows with the English/Western Program. Linda Jacobsen will offer her ranch for Ranch Versatility Shows as long as Region 6 gets her on the insurance policy. Could be our 3 rd event covered by the existing insurance.
