1/5&1/6 scale radio controlled model Large scale Baltic Cup 2017 Regulation Large scale Baltic Cup 2017 - a single 3day event race, which is regulated by this regulation and RcBajaRace 2017 radio controlled model technical rules published on www.baja5b.lv (if not specified in these published rules, see EFRA rules). 1. Participants Any person may participate in the competition, no special licences or permits are required. 3. Place and time * 18-20.august, 2017 RTpower Turaida race track, Arāji, Krimuldas pagasts, Krimuldas novads, LV-2144, Latvija GPS 57 10 53.7 N 24 48 28.4 E 57.181587 24.807874 Waze- RTPower RC trase 4. Model class for the competition: Nr. Class 1 1/5 & 1/6-2WD 1/5 & 1/6 rear wheel drive with petrol engines 2 1/5 & 1/6 4WD 1/5 & 1/6 4x4 wheel drive with petrol engines 5. Counting system MYLAPS RC4 electronic lap counting system and individual transponders will be used. A chance to rent transponders will be provided. (20pcs. for rent) Participation fee: Adults (early registration over internet ) - 25 eur
If participant are willing to race in both clases, then for next class addition fee - 20 eur Registration at race track 30 eur Participants of 16 years or younger 20 eur Rent of transponder - 4 eur Fees mentioned above are valid only if participant has made early registration at www.baja5b.lv Registration will be closed at 23:59 of 16.08.2017. For registration at race track, fee will be rised 5eur 6. Competition points: Individual competition: In accordance with EFRA GP1 (fewer than 30 participants) and EFRA GP2 (more than 30 participants) point counting system. 7. Race procedure Each heat has maximum of 12 drivers Participants are randomly divided into two groups A and B. Participants will drive five 10 min qualification runs of which 3 (three) best results are taken into account. If weather conditions will be considered as extreme, judges has rights to change amount of qualification runs. The finals are divided into group A and B. Half of the total number of participants who were the fastest in the qualification are in group A final. The other half of participants are in group B final. More detailed timetable will be announced one day before race, but not later that 17 th august. www.baja5b.lv 8. Marshalling 1. All drivers shall participate in marshalling on the racetrack (except for the cases when the organizer has called for special marshals). 2. The track owner shall provide brightly coloured jackets for marshals. 3. Marshalling shall take place in accordance with the schedule. 4. Marshals shall take their place for marshalling 2 minutes before start. 5. Non-marshalling is a situation when marshal is not in its place 1 minute after the start signal. 6. For non-marshalling in qualification, a participant receives penalty 1 race lap from the best qualification result. In case of repeated non-marshalling, the participant is disqualified from the race. Decision of judges for disqualifying, has no possibility for dispute. 7. For non-marshalling in finals, a participant receives penalty 3 race laps from the final result. In case of repeated non-marshalling, the participant is disqualified from the race. Decision of judges for disqualifying, has no possibility for dispute. 8. Malicious and permanent taking of marshalling place with delay may be punished with a warning. In case of repeated warning, the participant shall be punished according to Clause 6 or 7.
9. After coordinating it with the judge, a driver has the right to use a substitute that shall take the driver s place in marshalling. The driver is fully responsible for the actions of his/her substitute on the racetrack. 10. A marshal has the right to start a stalled car ( not more than 5 pulls), in that case, however, the car cannot be located on the racetrack. 11. Only the official marshals have the right to touch the cars that are in the middle on the racetrack. However, marshals has rights to not a touch car, if driver still hit a gas and wheels are still spinning. Marshals has rights to use stop button, if marshal has any doubts about car technical problems like engine high revving and spinning of wheels when it is turned over. BUT these rights marshal can t use for malicious purposes. 12. If the car is damaged, a marshal shall deliver it to a specially designed place next to drivers platform as soon as possible. For malicious non-delivering or any kind of delay, the marshaldriver in question will be penalized with a 10-second penalty. 13. A marshal shall return the car that has left the racetrack, to the place where it left the track from. When returning car on the racetrack, no other cars should be disturbed in the process. 14. Use of alcohol drinks and smoking are strongly restricted while marshalling. Also to be under heavy influence of alcohol while marshalling is prohibited. Using mobile phone is prohibited. 15. Race coordinators and race track owner has no responsibility and liability for any injuries at race track and during the race competition. Each participant has his own responsibility and liability and also for his co participants during stay at race track property and during race competition. Each participant at registering procedure with his own signature below, confirm that it has acquainted, carefully read all in full, and has no complaint about these regulations and will follow these regulations. 9. Media If a media representative wants to take photos or film the race in the middle of racetrack, then he/she should coordinate that with the organizers and receive a brightly coloured vest, which shall be used while on the racetrack. 15. Race coordinators and race track owner has no responsibility and liability for any injuries at race track and during the race competition! 10. Driving culture in the racetrack 1. Drivers should treat each other with respect. A driver shall give way for those drivers who are ahead of him/her by a race lap or more. It is specifically forbidden to disturb other drivers! If it happens, the judge may punish the violator. Prohibited shouting and use of bad words 2. At all times driving with car must be safety in first place, especially other humans safety ( health). Driver is personally responsible for that. 3. Returning on the track after an accident, a participant must give way to all models that are passing by at that time, regardless of participant s position in that run. Cars, driving in the racetrack, have advantages over cars that are outside the track, overturned or have technical issues. Return of the car after car fixing outside of the truck must be done only from stop&go spot. 4. The judge shall determine penalties (disqualification or result aggravation) for participants whose models do not follow the driving standards:
4.1. In case of the first warning, a participant receives a 10-second penalty or STOP&GO (STOP&GO must be complied with within the next three laps since receiving the penalty). 4.2. In case of the second warning, 3 laps are counted off of a participant s result. 4.3. In case of the third warning, a participant is disqualified. 4.4. In case of failure to follow the judge s instructions, a participant receives a warning. In case it happens again, the participant is disqualified from the RcBajaRace stage. 4.5. The judge s decision is final and cannot be changed. 4.6. Only those participants driving at the time as well as the coordinator of the competition are allowed to be on the ramp or the command bridge. 12. Objections Only drivers participating in a race may submit objections. An Official objections committee consists of a judge and the Baltic Cup 2017 race organizer. An objection must be submitted no later than 15 minutes after the arising of a dispute or the end of the race. An objection has 30eur deposit, and must be deposited to race coordinators at same time as objection has been submitted. If objection has been recognized as unfounded, money will not be reimbursed. The Baltic Cup 2017 race organizer and the judge are responsible for just and fair consideration of the objection. 13.
