BRICKYARD BULLETIN VOL. 43, ISSUE 10 A MONTHLY PUBLICATION OF THE INDY CHAPTER OF THE STUDEBAKER DRIVERS CLUB, OCTOBER, 2016 The Historical Auto Club joined the Indy Chapter at the Blue Bird Cafe for our October get together. A great meal and good time was had by all. It was nice to see so many Studebakers and other classic cars out on a beautiful fall day! With all the election talk in the news let us not forget that it is also election time in the Indy Chapter. If anyone is interested in running for an office let me know. We will hold the election at the November 6th meeting at Studebaker International. Hope to see everyone there! Nancy Bacon Indy Chapter President From a barn to a cruise in. October 5, 2015 we pulled the R2 64 GT Hawk (L) out of a barn from a 25 year slumber. October 7, 2016 it got to go to its 1st cruise. Lots of work, finally some fun! Nancy Minutes Lunch at the Blue Bird Café Meeting October 9 Since Secretary, Bob Fox, was at the COLTS game, his lovely wife, Sandy, (who is typing this) took the minutes (such as they are). We were at a joint luncheon with the Historic Auto Club at the Bluebird Café in Morristown, IN, sponsored by Marvin & Berniece Snider. President, Nancy Bacon, called the meeting to order with a promise of a very short meeting. She thanked Marvin and Berniece for hosting this event. Nancy said that the Studebaker Museum is hosting a raffle to win a car or $20,000 (and 2 nd & 3 rd prizes). The tickets sell for 1 for $50.00 or 3 for $100.00. The election of officers will be at the November meeting. No officer s reports were given. Nancy signed off with, That s all folks! We saw it when we ate at The Covered Bridge on the way home from The 2016 Newport Indiana Antique Auto Hill Climb. (By the way, The Covered Bridge Restaurant is to be recommended; good food and reasonable prices: Our total tab for two platters with two coffees, tax, and 20% tip, was under $20! It was recommended to us by a farmer named Gary Place who lives across the line in Homer IL, near Paris. Gary races his Chevy at The Pure Stock Muscle Car Drag Race and I came to know him up there in Michigan.) Bob Palma I subscribe to a Facebook page called Indiana Album. This picture was posted on there but no further details. I was hoping someone in the club might know where this was. Brian Reeves Anybody recognize the location or know about Hull House?
