GAME 17 RECAP: TCU Shaina Pellington led the way with 24 points off the bench, but it would not be enough as a fast start by TCU was too much for Oklahoma to overome as the Sooners fell 86-71. Four early 3-pointers from TCU in the opening quarter allowed the Horned Frogs to build a 22-10 lead. The Sooners finished with 11 turnovers in the first half, allowing the Horned Frogs to score 11 points off of OU miscues and build a 39-24 halftime lead. @OU_WBBall A 3-pointer from Jessi Murcer trimmed the deficit down to seven points with 7:42 to go in the fourth quarter, but TCU answered with a 7-0 run to rebuild a double-digit advantage. Pellington finished 10-of-18 from the field and was 4-of-6 from the free throw line to pick up her third 20-point game of the season. Madi Williams also finished in double figures with 14 points and led the Sooners with eight rebounds. Murcer added 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting and was 3-for-3 from beyond the arc. Ana Llanusa chipped in eight points and matched her career high with four steals. Ijeoma Odimgbe tied her career-high with four blocks. TCU's Jordan Moore earned a double-double with a game-high 25 points and 14 rebounds. Moore was 10- for-15 from the field and recorded four blocks. In her first game since Nov. 9, Llanusa added 11 points, six rebounds and three assists off the bench in 25 minutes against Texas Tech. She followed up with a season-high 14 points at Kansas State on Jan. 5 off the bench. The sophomore missed 10 games due to foot surgery. Llanusa leads the Sooners with 14.5 points per game during Big 12 play, which also ranks 13th in the league. At Iowa State, the sophomore turned in the best performance of her collegiate career, finishing with career-highs of 35 points, 15 made free throws and four steals. Llanusa's 35 points are the most scored by a Big 12 player in a game this season and are the most by a Sooner in a single game since 2014. Llanusa's 35 points rank as the seventh-most scored by a Sooner in a Big 12 game. She joins Aaryn Ellenberg, Courtney Paris (twice), Danielle Robinson and Phylesha Whaley (twice) as the only OU players to score 35-plus points against a Big 12 opponent. Llanusa returned to the starting lineup against Texas on Jan. 9 and has scored 10-plus points four times in her first six games back from injury. TRACKING T-ROB Taylor Robertson has quickly made her mark as one of the top 3-point shooters in the country so far this season. She has also won Big 12 Freshman of the Week four times this season Robertson ranks fifth nationally in 3-pointers per game (3.71) and sixth in 3-point field goals made (63). She is on pace to break the Big 12 record for 3-pointers per game, which was set by Laurie Koehn (3.59) of Kansas State during the 2002-03 season. Robertson, along with Texas Tech's Chrislyn Carr and Kentucky's Rhyne Howard, are the only three freshmen to lead their respective teams in scoring so far this season. Robertson set the school record for most consecutive games with a 3-pointer to begin a season. The freshman made at least one 3-pointer in 15 straight games to begin the season, which set a school record. The freshman's 15 straight games is the sixth-best streak ever by a Sooner. Robertson saw her streak end last Saturday against Iowa State. Robertson is second on OU's freshman record list with 63 made 3-pointers. Aaryn Ellenberg holds the OU freshman record with 94 treys during the 2010-11 season. Through 17 games, Robertson has five 20-point scoring games and led OU with 23 points on 8-for-15 shooting against UConn. Robertson's 23 points are the most scored by an individual player against the Huskies this season. Robertson also leads the Big 12 in free throw percentage (.902) and in 3-point shooting percentage (.444), while ranking ninth in minutes played (33.1). She is second among all freshmen and ranks ninth in the league in points per game (15.9). BOOMER BUNCH CHARTING ROBERTSON 3-POINTERS PER GAME AMONG DIVISION I PLAYERS Name 3FG/PG School 1. For the first time in the Sherri Coale era, four freshmen were in OU's starting lineup as the Sooners faced Iowa State on last Saturday: Jessi Murcer, Madi Williams, Taylor Robertson and Tatum Veitenheimer. Oklahoma is the only Power 5 Team to have four freshmen start multiple games so far this season.
