3 16 Local Rules Format - Each participant will play each of the three courses once, with the top 50% of each division playing a fourth round in the Sunday finals. Each player is also automatically included in the daily $100 longest hole-in-one, per course contest, and various CTP contests. Cart Paths - The cart path is defined as the point where the grass and the concrete edge of the cart path (including raised edging) meet (unless marked by string). All other improvements (see examples below) adjacent to the cart path are not part of the cart path. The out-of-bounds line is a vertical upand-down plane. The out-of-bounds line is part of the out-of-bounds area. Therefore, a disc landing on dirt or grass growing over a cart path edge is out-ofbounds when 100% of the disc is on the O.B.-side of the vertical plane! Course Availability - After Wednesday, courses in play are closed for that day. There is no practicing a closed course, even after all play has been finalized for that day and for that course. Walking of courses permitted. Players caught playing a closed course are in violation of Player Misconduct and may be penalized with a two-throw misplay. Dress Code (National Tour criteria) All players must wear a well-tailored shirt with a collar and sleeves covering upper chest area and upper arm. Crew neck/v-neck shirts made of high-performance or high-tech materials, such as Dry-Fit or Cool-Max, are permitted. Tank tops and tee shirts are prohibited. Women may wear sleeveless shirts with collars or a well-tailored one-piece tennis dresses with minimum 1 inch wide shoulder straps. Shirts that hang down lower than the bottom hemline on the player's shorts shall be tucked in. Ripped shirts, shorts, or pants are prohibited, including unhemmed, torn, or cut "vents" at the shirt collar. Offensive, profane, and obscene slogans or logos are prohibited on any clothing. Juniors are prohibited from wearing slogans or logos referring to alcohol, tobacco, or drugs. Players are not allowed to play in bare feet. Sandals or slides are permitted. Discs Retrieval from Back Yards & Water Areas - No hopping fences or wading in water to retrieve discs. Player may be penalized two throws or even possible disqualified from event. Media & Spectators The facility has been rented for a private function and is not assumed to be open to the public. All formal media must be approved by Innova. Spectators with personal cameras, cell phones, or other portable devices are not considered media. Media & Spectators may not approach competitors within 30 minutes of their tee time nor at any point during their round; must remain at least 10 meters (33 feet) from competitors during play; and are not allowed within 10-meters of the DISCatcher target. All cell phones must remain silent at all times while on the course. Sand Traps - The sand trap is defined as the point where the grass and the sand meet (unless marked by string). The hazard line is a vertical up-and-down plane. The hazard line is part of the hazard area. Therefore, a disc landing on grass growing over a sand trap is in the hazard when 100% of the disc is on the hazard-side of the vertical plane! Treat sand traps as a hazard (one-stroke penalty and play it where it lies). No relief provided from sand traps. Teeing Areas - Tee boxes include an area up to three (3) meters directly behind the designated tee line/blocks. When in use, Teeing Areas are in-bounds. Two Meter Rule - In effect for all courses, with a one-stroke penalty. Water Areas - Water areas are defined as the point where the water and the grass meet (unless marked by string). The out-of-bounds line is a vertical upand-down plane. The out-of-bounds line is part of the out-of-bounds area. Zero Tolerance Policy - Any illegal or inappropriate activities will be dealt with immediately. A player will be disqualified if in violation of any laws or regulations or regulations, even if activity occurs before or after a player s round, anywhere on the Wild Horse property. The disqualified player shall forfeit any prize without refund and subject to PDGA disciplinary action. 4
5 14 Event Contests Ace Pool - $100 for the longest ace, per course, per day! CTP By Division - Hole No. 8 on Course #3 (name to TBD) is likely the Thursday-Saturday CTP By Division hole. Drive must land in-bounds. CTP Mini Finals Before You Tee - For those that make the cut and play on Sunday, this contest occurs before each group tees the first hole. CTP Finals by Course - For those that make the cut and play on Sunday, Hole No. 5 on Course Innova and Hole No. 7 on Course #2 (name to TBD) are likely the Final CTP holes. Initial shot must land in-bounds to qualify. Distance Competition for St. Jude - There are five trials for multiple divisions (Am Women, Am Men, Pro Women, Pro Men, and likely a few aged-protected divisions) that could earn you a spot into the Saturday night finals. Trial times are at Noon on Thursday, Friday, & Saturday, and at 4:30 PM on Thursday & Friday. Cost is $10 per trial/5 throws. Try as many times as you would like. All entry fees donated to St. Jude. Putting Contest - Trials for the four divisions (Am Women, Am Men, Pro Women, and Pro Men) occur throughout tournament near the official s/ scoring tent. Cost is $2 per try (pay first), and you can try as many times as you would like. The top two players from each division will have a putt-off at the Award Ceremony on Sunday. Skins Challenge - The three Pro players with the lowest overall scores will randomly draw a golden ticket partner and play five extra holes worth $200 each. Must use at least two drives per partner. Pushes carry over, but only include the tied teams. Any pushes after the fifth hole will be broken by a sixth-hole CTP contest, with only tied teams throwing. Event occurs after submission of final scorecard. Golden ticket are earned for every $25 spent in the vending area or purchased for $5 each. Not on island ACCURACY Fun Activities Accuracy - The goal is to throw four discs from each of the seven stations, through a square target, one meter above ground. Each disc that passes through the frame is counted as a hit. The record is 25, held by Mike Cloyes since 1991. Double Disc Court - Played with two teams of two players each and two 110 gram Wham-O pro model (or similar) discs. The field of play includes two courts, each defended by each team. The first team to earn 15 points wins (and must win by 2). Go to www.wfdf.org/sports/ddc for rules. DOUBLE DISC COURT Hott Shott - A putting contest using DX Sonic discs from six colored stations, with each station having a different value. Must putt from behind the station, and cannot move any discs in the basket. After all stations are played, add the point value listed on each disc for a total score. Add an extra 10 bonus points, per station, if all station discs were made. Add another 20 bonus points if all 24 discs were made, for a perfect score of 500 points. Mini Course (Nine Holes) - A nine hole mini course is available for play. Player s Party - Saturday night is the on-site Party, which will include the Distance Finals and the Raffle. Lots and lots of fun things to do! Beer & food specials by Wild Horse!
