SEASON: The Chicago Cubs today open their 139th National League campaign when they play the Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park this is the second-straight season opener in Pittsburgh for the Cubs the team previously had consecutive season openers against the same team in 2006 and 2007 at Cincinnati last year, the Cubs defeated the Pirates, 3-1, on Opening Day at PNC Park.
