Welcome to Mussennist Dressage Inc. At Mussennist Dressage Inc. we want to help with the development of dressage in Ontario. We want everyone to enjoy, learn, and help improve with his or her riding. In the winter time, there is not a lot to do for dressage riders, therefore we are organizing our first dressage winter series. We hope you ll come out and join us! Pas de deux Offered at Training level, 1 st level, 2 nd level, and 3 rd level Quadrille Offered at Training level, 1 st level, 2 nd level, and 3 rd level, Costume class This class is only offered when there are at least two (2) riders. This class is for all ages. Lead line This is only offered when there are at least two (2) riders. This is a fun class for the little ones. Western dressage We will be offering this class for those interested. Please contact us about the levels available.
Equitation: The equitation class will only be held if there is a minimum of two horses/ponies. Entries are due by the deadline. There is a late fee for late entries. There will be an entry form and liability waiver that needs to be signed. The liability waiver needs to be signed by a parent or guardian for riders under 18 years old. Limited entries We only made two tests for every level because we want to accommodate as many riders as possible. It is ok to enter a miscellaneous class as well. We hope everyone understands. Entry fees Entry fees need to be paid by the deadline date. Entries can be paid in cash, cheque, or e -transfer. Cash and cheques can be send in the mail to Mussennist Dressage Inc. 843479 Road 84 Lakeside ON N0M 2G0. Dressage classes are $25/test Miscellaneous classes are $15/class There is $10 admin fee and HST charge on the total amount. Memberships All riders must have an Ontario Equestrian Federation (OEF) membership. On the entry forms there is a box where the OEF number can be filled in. Tests Tests will be posted to our website www.mussennistdressageevents.weebly.com. You can download and print them to use for reading. These tests are made for a 20 x 40m ring. We designed these tests ourselves so we do not want them to be used at other events. Ribbons Ribbons will be awarded to 3 th place in all classes. No ribbons or prizes will be awarded to scores less than 50%.
Ride times Ride times will be posted the Monday before the show. Make sure to check back daily to make sure no changes have been made. Please make sure you are on time. If you are delayed due to weather, give us a call and we will try to move things a little around and fit you in. Riding attire Clinic or showing attire allowed. Anyone mounted on a horse at any given time must wear a helmet. Horses are allowed to wear boots or bandages during their tests. We do allow bitless bridles. Our October show will be a Halloween themed show, the best costume of the day will get a reward. Scratches and refunds We will call off a show when it is bad weather out. The show will then be moved to the set snow date and all entries will be carried towards this show. Refunds will only apply when a veterinarian note is presented within two (2) days of the show. First Aid/ Veterinarian/ Farrier We have a First Aid kit on the property and are trained in First Aid. There will be a veterinarian and farrier on call for those who need them. Stabling There are limited stalls available, so we ask everyone to contact us ASAP if you want to have a stall. Stabling is $25/day. You do have to bring your own hay and shavings. General rules We do have some barn rules we want everyone to follow. Do not give our horses any treats. Clean up after yourself. No running in the barn. Anyone mounted on a horse at any given time MUST wear a helmet. No dogs allowed on the property. Judges decision is final. It is allowed to have a test caller, rider is responsible for their own caller. Ring size Ring size is 20 x 40m, all our tests are made for a 20x40m ring. Warm up There will be 30 min warm up time for every rider. Remember arena etiquette and pass each other left to left or the fastest going gait has the track. Restricted Areas There will be restricted areas on the property. These areas will be closed with ropes and signs.
Food and beverages We have a food booth located in our heated viewing area upstairs. There are warm and cold beverages available as well as food and snacks. This is a cash only booth. Parking Trailer parking is available behind the first barn. All cars can park in front of the first barn and coverall. Awards Team Challenge There is a team challenge for the complete series. Rules are simple, four (4) riders in a team, every rider needs at least two (2) scores from different shows, then the highest scores will be added, and at the end of the series there will be an award for the Champions and Reserve Champions. Teams are due by the first show in October 2017. High Point At every show, we will have a High Point prize. This prize will be awarded at the year-end awards. Year-end awards To be eligible for these year-end awards a horse/rider combination must compete at the same class Level in a minimum of 3 shows, in one winter season. Champion and Reserve Champion are determined by totaling the three (3) highest percentages in three different shows with an average of 60% for Champions and an average of 55% for Reserve Champions. Champion and Reserve Champion will be awarded at each class level, excluding the Freestyles. Senior Rider Trophy Awarded to the Senior horse/rider combination with the highest cumulative score from their three (3) best tests. The rider/horse combination must show at least at three (3) shows. Junior Rider Trophy Awarded to the Junior horse/rider combination with the highest cumulative score from their three (3) best tests. The rider/horse combination must show at least at three (3) shows.
