Hi All, Well it looks like the nice days have left us and winter is fast approaching brrrrrr, I wish I still had a wood heater. There isn t a lot happening this time of year in the riding scene, recently Huntingfield held the Schools Event, unfortunately the day was very ordinary weather wise, I hope all the riders had a great day, kept warm and dry and I look forward to hearing your results. The Southern Zone Pony Club Games will be held on 11 th May, Mother s Day at Brighton Show Grounds, a big thank you to Melissa Curtain who has been organising the team, our team members are: Laura Monty Alanna Monty Emily Fish Cody Lane Sophie Triffitt Reserve Rider : Jemma Curtain The Club wishes you all the best for the day, if our team is successful they will travel to the State Games, which is being held in the Northern Zone on the 25 th May. Over the Winter we will be scheduling several Working Bee s, we need to maintain the grounds ready for the up and coming season, the club is also going to purchase 50 new show jump poles, these will require painting too, so please look out for these dates and make sure you come along and help. I recently received an email from Viv and Olivia. They have settled into their new home at Westbury and their horses are also enjoying the lush paddocks, apparently too much! Cheers and keep warm. Sue

If you are not coming to Rally when rostered on, please organise for another family to swap with you! You are also required to pack up/clean the clubrooms and toilets at the end of the day 2 families for toilets, and 2 for clubrooms. Please sort that out between you who is to do what. If you are leaving at lunch time, please do a swap with someone so it s not left to the same people each rally. Many hands make light work. Helmets must be worn whilst saddling up and around your horse There are always lots of jobs to do throughout the day but more especially at the end of the day. This is for you parents...as well as children: - Packing up equipment (the show jump poles and wings are especially time consuming and heavy so the more helpers the better). - Picking up manure from the dressage arena after use. (this is great done at the time of the lesson for those parents watching...take your poop scooper over with you). - Clean up your own horses yard. Manure is to go at the end of the yard in the area provided...not AROUND THE TREES. - Ensure chains are hung over railing or clipped up, not left on the ground. - Vacuuming the clubrooms (there will be someone there to show you the ropes if you don t know where things are.) - Cleaning the toilets. - Putting rubbish from the bins into the skip bin near the sheds. - Washing up in the canteen. Tanya and Ali will always appreciate any help throughout the day. - Assistance with the afternoon activities. This is parent run so just come up and offer any assistance. I know it will be well received and certainly no experience necessary. THOSE THAT LEAVE AT LUNCH TIME MUST ASSIST US ALSO WITH ANY OF THE ABOVE MENTIONED JOBS. Pee Wee bits are permitted at pony club events however bitless bridles are not. C test rider MUST bring their test manuals to Rally. There will be a speed limit on the access driveway to the TEC. Please be mindful of the speed that you enter the grounds at. There is a No Smoking rule for our grounds. Dogs are not permitted on grounds Packing Up Please don t forget to help with the set up and pack up of equipment. It is unfair to leave it to the same people every time. A roster is in place for afternoon cleaning of toilets and clubrooms. CLEAN UP YOUR YARD It is your responsibility to clean up after your horse at the end of the day. Please also hang up chains so they don t rust. If you notice someone leaving their yard in a mess, please remind them of their responsibility. Reminder also that manure is NOT to be placed around trees. SMOKING AT TEC A new legislation states that smoking is not permitted on any sporting grounds. Please abide by these rules.
