Tournament Schedule: Saturday, February 9 7:00 7:45 am Scales Open to Check Weight 8:00 am Weigh-In Photo ID required Weigh in by Weight on 4 Scales Alternates Need to Weigh-in too 9:30 am Coaches Meeting 10:00 am 1 st Round Matches Begin on 4 Mats Approx. 11:30 am 2 nd Round Matches Begin on 4 Mats Approx. 2:00 pm Consolation Matches Begin on 4 Mats Approx. 3:30 pm Consolation Finals Begin on 4 Mats Approx. 5:00 pm Championship Finals Begin on 2 Mats Weigh-ins: Skin Issues: Weigh-ins will begin promptly at 8 am in the DeVries Center at Big Bend Community College. All wrestlers, including alternates, need to have photo ID and their weigh-in card with them at weigh-ins. Weigh-in cards will be in the coaches packet that can be picked up on Friday night or Saturday morning upon arrival at BBCC. Weigh-ins will follow National Federation Wrestling rules and will be done by weight on four scales. Any skin irregularities/disease must be accompanied by a note from a physician stating the disease is non-communicable. A physician s clearance must be on the STATE APPROVED FORM and the clearance may not be over a week old.
Withdrawals: Officials: Ejection Policy: Any school that intends to withdraw a qualified participant should contact Bryan Bjork at 509-361-9676 as soon as possible. All officials are assigned by the WIAA. Please remind all of your athletes that, as per WIAA guidelines, a participant that is ejected is done for the rest of the tournament and thus the remainder of the season. Admission Prices: ADULTS $10.00 (Set by the WIAA) Includes Students without ASB Card STUDENTS $7.00 High School & Middle School Kids With ASB Card & Children Under 12 SENIORS $7.00 Age 62 and Up CHILDREN UNDER 5 FREE **Tournament Passes for the Mat Classic State Tournament will be pre-sold Saturday afternoon. Passes: All participants and coaches will be issued a pass that must be worn or shown for free admission. These passes will be in each school s coaches packet. Passes are determined by state guidelines and are listed below: 1 Pass Per Participant 1 Administrator/Supervisor Pass 1 Cheer Advisor Pass 4 Coaches Passes 1 Pass Per Alternate 2 Manager Passes Cheerleaders will be Admitted in Uniform Floor Access: All spectators are to remain in the stands. Floor access for the region tournament will have the following guidelines. Each school will be limited to a maximum of four cheerleaders and a coach at mat side. Only news media and photographers approved by the tournament director Two team representatives per school for each match No Parents, Non-Media Photographers, or Filming
State Qualifiers: The top four finishers in each weight division will qualify for the State Wrestling Tournament to be held in the Tacoma Dome February 15th & 16 th. The 5 th and 6 th place finisher will be the first and second alternate to state. Schools need to bring the first alternate to Tacoma and they will weigh-in and receive a non-floor access pass. Awards & Pictures: Locker Rooms: Warm-Up: Medical Personnel: Blood Clean Up: Medals will be awarded to the top four wrestlers in each weight class. Awards will be presented following each group of matches in the championship round. Once done with awards, the top four finishers in each weight class will move to photo area to have their group picture taken for the state program. Per WIAA policy, wrestlers need to be dressed in school warm-ups, which include a top and bottom. Athletes will not be allowed to be in street clothes or have hats, sunglasses, mascots or any other items in the picture with them. Both the boys & girls locker rooms will be available to use. Athletes are expected to bring their own towels and to treat the facilities with respect. Please remind your parents and fans that the locker room is off limits and not a public restroom area. Big Bend CC is not responsible for any lost or stolen items and athletes are encouraged to not leave valuables in the locker room area. Once wrestling starts, there will be a mat available for warm-up in the gym extension area. This area is only open to wrestlers in uniform and coaches. If your school is bringing a trainer please put their name on the pass list. Moses Lake High School will have Sarah Aiken, ATC, working the entire tournament. She is a certified athletic trainer and will have the final say on whether an athlete can return to participate after an injury of any type. Sarah and any of her sports med students will help all athletes but each school must provide their own training supplies. Any athlete being seen by the athletic trainer will be expected to fill out an injury report with the trainers before leaving. Moses Lake High School athletic trainer and sports med students will be mat side with all of the proper materials to aid in blood clean up. Coaches need to clean their own wrestlers. Parking: Parking is available on the campus of Big Bend CC with no fees. If any school is bringing a bus, we would ask that the driver park the bus in East gravel parking lot. Signs: No signs are allowed in the gym area except for official school banners.
Hospitality Room: Concessions: Bands & Noisemakers: There will be a hospitality room for coaches, officials, school administrators, and tournament workers. No students will be allowed in the hospitality room and please remember to clean up after yourself. The Big Bend Booster Club will be on hand all day selling food and drinks. No bands or noisemakers of any type are allowed in the gym. Tournament Apparel: Rush Team Apparel will be on site selling merchandise.
