Underwent a veterinary examination and passed fit to run. Shortly after the start attempted to buck for some distance and as a result took no competitive part in the event. Rider J Turner reported on scales that the fillys saddle had shifted back when jumping away. Trainer S Hasan was notified that prior to racing again the filly must trial to the satisfaction of stewards. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. A post race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be making an abnormal breathing noise. Trainer D Weir was notified that he will be required to provide a Veterinary Clearance with satisfactory results of an endoscopic examination before the horse is accepted to race again. Shes Proper Commenced awkwardly shifted in and made contact with Ortega Lane. Fifth placegetter. Rider L Meech was fined the $200.00 for failing to ride her mount out fully to the line. In assessing penalty stewards could not be fully satisfied that her actions had effected the placings. Iron Machine Commenced awkwardly. Raced wide without cover throughout the event. In the straight lay in under pressure. Ortega Lane Raced wide without cover throughout the event. Stella Effort Passing the 200m shifted out to obtain clear running and in doing so carried The Bont wider on the course. Autonomous Performed below market expectations. Rider J Allen stated that he was instructed to ride the gelding in a midfield position with cover. Due to the wide barrier he restrained his mount to obtain cover and as a result settled further back than intended. He
added that the gelding was under pressure from the 400m and in his opinion only finished the race off fairly. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Race 2 PIPELINE FABRICATIONS MAIDEN PLATE - 1000 metres: Super Kean Correct weight was delayed to allow rider S Vella and trainer B Cerchi the opportunity to view the stewards patrol vision of the start to ascertain whether the gelding had been denied a fair start. Evidence was taken from Starters Mr I Fryer and Mr T Richards along with Barrier attendant Mr B Nolan. After considering all the evidence stewards could not be satisfied that Super Kean had been denied a fair start and therefore was deemed a runner and correct weight was given. Bounded as the start was effected and as a result lost ground. Raced wide without cover throughout the event. When questioned regarding the tactics adopted rider S Vella stated that he had trialled the gelding recently and was of the opinion that it would race in a forward position. However after jumping away awkwardly and from his wide barrier he was obliged to race further back in the field than he originally expected. He also added that in his opinion after racing wide without cover throughout the event this was detrimental to the horse chances and the gelding made a respiratory noise during the event and for this reason he failed to ride his mount out over the concluding stages. Race 4 GERARD RYAN ELECTRICAL 0-58 HANDICAP - 1600 metres: Diamonds Uncut Change of Tactics. Connections advised intention to be ridden further back due to the wide barrier. Settled at the rear of the field. Held up from approaching the 500m and until near the 300m before again having to shift out shortly after this to obtain clear running. When questioned regarding the tactics rounding the home turn and in the straight rider S Vella explained he was unable to improve near the 600m due to Tea Tales to his outside and Wild Cavalier which was commencing to give ground. S Vella further explained that he was instructed by trainer B Cerchi to stay to the inside and ride for luck. Wild Cavalier Performed below market expectations. Rider J Allen could offer no explanation other than the gelding hung out rounding the home turn. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Naming Rights Rider B Stockdale could offer no explanation for the poor performance. A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the near fore. Trainer N Dyer was notified that he must present a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to racing again. Salisbury Correct weight was delayed to allow rider C Robertson and trainer Q Scott the opportunity to view the vision of the start to ascertain whether the gelding had been denied a fair start. Evidence was taken from Starters Mr I Fryer and Mr T Richards. On the evidence and after viewing the stewards patrol video of the start stewards could not be satisfied that Salisbury had been denied a fair start and therefore correct weight was given. Reared as the started was effected (2 L). Tea Tales Restrained from the wide barrier to obtain cover. Raced ungenerously getting its head up in the early and middle stages. Commenced a wide run from the 900m to improve its position. Catchtherainbow Tactics and performance queried. Rider F Alesci stated he was instructed to ride the mare where comfortable. After beginning extremely well he allowed the mare to stride forward and take up a forward position behind the leader. Trainer R Bell confirmed the instructions. When questioned regarding the seemingly improved performance trainer R Bell stated the mare had taken benefit from its previous race and was racing too relaxed throughout its races and for this reason he removed the ear muffs for the first time. He also stated the mare is suited to races of a distance between 1400m and 1600m. Bian Late Near the 150m had to be steadied to avoid the heels of Diamonds Uncut that shifted out. Race 5 COLAC TOYOTA BM64 HANDICAP - 1000 metres: Rain Fast Underwent a pre race veterinary examination on arrival on course. Acting on Veterinary advice Stewards orders the late withdrawal of the gelding at 2pm. Groote Eylandt Commenced awkwardly and lost ground. Sister Kitty Mac Performed below market expectations. Written Consent When attempting a neat run between Unique Storm and Sylvan Power had to be steadied to avoid the heels of Sylvan Power that was taken out by Parousia that shifted out to obtain clear running. On the evidence stewards could not be satisfied that Written Consent had obtained the run nonetheless severely reprimanded F Alesci for shifting ground when not clear to do so. Race 6 sungold milk camperdown cup - 1600 metres: Royal Request Slow to begin. Unique Assassin Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the event, before commencing to give ground from the 600m. Passing the 600m had to be steadied to avoid the heels of the weakening Treasure Map. Dreamtimes Shortly after the start had to be steadied to avoid the heels of Grassini that shifted out on jumping away. Raced wide from the 900m when looking to improve its position Letsgetsideways Commenced awkwardly. Grassini Raced wide without cover in the early stages before settling outside the leader approaching the 1200m. Tactics queried. Rider M Julius stated that she was instructed to be positive and take up a forward position. When questioned stable representative R Joiner confirmed the instructions were to take up a forward position which is contrary to previous starts and in the stables opinion had been racing very one paced. The stable was advised that should they wish to vary tactics in the future it was their obligation to notify stewards prior to the event. Prize Rider S Jackson was fined the sum of $200 for weighing in, in excess of half a kilogram over his declared weight. Ready To Excel Approaching the winning post was steadied when racing close the heels of Valhalla Princess and as a result went to the line not fully tested.
