Levin Cosmopolitan Club Inc Hi everyone and another big welcome to our members and readers of our monthly newsletter, your positive comments and feedback is much appreciated and indeed very encouraging to us. Cheers. 1) Trading numbers for the first three months of this financial year to 31 st October are not quite as good as for last year. However, we are having a very busy November and have good bookings right up to Christmas. A very special acknowledgement of the contribution put in by our Restaurant Staff and the way they prepare and present their food, especially for functions. This particularly is outstanding. 2) The new rateable value of the Levin Cosmopolitan Club land and buildings is $1,820,000. 3) Members may like to be reassured that, especially given the recent spate of earthquakes, your Club premises, fixtures, fittings and chattels are fully insured for reinstatement value. This value is independently assessed by a registered valuer and the figure is $6,582,000. The annual premium is not insignificant ($23,000 last year) but given the past experiences of the likes of the Upper Hutt Cosmopolitan Club (fire), the Papanui Club (earthquake) and others, full insurance cover is really a not negotiable fact of life. 4) Remember our Shuttle Vans for transport to or from the Club run on Tuesdays Fridays and Saturdays. On other days or for special occasions by special arrangement with Graham please. 5) At the Main Bar we have some fancy cocktail drinks for purchase and enjoyment (Pina Colada, Marguerita, Mai Tai, Fruit Passion) and of course Guinness Stout, Carlsberg Lager and 12 other beers and ciders. Remember you can use your loyalty points any time. Happy Clubbing all, keep healthy and safe. 1

ADJUNCT NEWS - Senior Members Adjunct On Wednesday 21 st September 52 members boarded a bus bound for Wimbledon. We stopped in Woodville for a morning tea break and a wander around, and then headed for Wimbledon for a finger food lunch, which there was plenty of. We left there and on the way home stopped at the Dannevirke Club for refreshments. Wednesday 5 th October we had another trip. This time there were 37 members who made the trip to the Life Flight Trust where we had a very enlightening talk on what was actually involved in the Westpac Helicopter work. Before that visit we had lunch at the Chocolate Fish Café. 26 th October we went to Petone to play for the Johnny Walker Cup which unfortunately we lost this year. 9 th November Upper Hutt came to visit us. We played bowls and cards in a friendly manner as there was no cup at stake. 2016 is fast coming to a close so there is only one event left on this year s calendar, and that is our Christmas Dinner on the 14 th December. As this will be the final report for 2016 I will take this opportunity on behalf of all our Senior Members to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and look forward to a good year in 2017 starting with our opening BBQ on Wednesday 25 th January.
