Venue Information Manly 16 Skiff Sailing Club Address: Cnr East Esplanade & Stuart Street, Manly 2095 Phone: (02) 9977 3322 Web: www.manlyskiff.com.au Boat Unloading and Rigging Area for All Visiting Boats Boat unloading is available on 3pm to 6pm Friday 12 January 2018 and from 8am Saturday 13 January 2018. Boats can be unloaded in East Esplanade Reserve immediately opposite Ashburner Street. We ask that once you have unloaded your boat that you clear the unloading area as space is limited. There will be Area Marshalls assisting with unloading and directions. Please follow their directions as we will have approx. 50 boats unloading and rigging in this area. Our agreement with Council does not allow the parking of cars in this area so once your boats have been unloaded we ask that you clear the area and park your car (see separate section on parking). Trailer parking in available in designated areas in East Esplanade Reserve. Please follow instructions of Area Marshalls on where to locate your trailer. Boats can be left in the East Esplanade Reserve area overnight during the Regatta. We will have a security guard stationed overnight in this area but suggest that no valuables are left with or in the boats. Could all paths be kept clear as this is a very busy area in Manly and we need to ensure that the public can still move around. Car Parking Unfortunately, car parking is limited in Manly and council rangers regularly patrol and issue parking fines. Most streets around the club are restricted to a maximum of 2 hours. St Mary s Catholic School has kindly allowed parking on their grounds during the regatta. This school is approx. 7 mins walk from East Esplanade Reserve. The cost of this parking will be $35 ($5 per day) for the regatta and this money will be given to the school as a donation. Booking will be available to book via Trybooking https://www.trybooking.com/tjtg from 28 December 2017. Parking needs to be booked before the regatta (closes 6pm 12th January) and car registration details provided. The best location for free all day parking is around the areas of Manly West School, Boy Charlton Swim Centre and Kierle Park areas. These locations are approx. 30 mins walk back to East Esplanade Reserve. There is also limited all day parking near Manly Hospital in Darley Road. Potential all day parking areas. Please make sure that you check signage. Racing Areas & Manly Ferries When sailing to & from race areas 1 or 2 competitors will need to cross the Manly Ferry lane. Please follow instructions from the Race Safety officials. Please note that it is extremely likely that we will be sailing in Race Area 2 or The Sound. The best location to view the racing will be at Tania Park which takes approx. 15 minutes to drive to. 9/01/2018 Page 4
Viewing Area Race Area 1 Manly 16 Skiff Club Little Manly Boat Ramp Race Area 2 Facilities All registration, briefings, competitor presentations and event BBQ s over the week will be held at Manly 16ft Skiff Sailing Club or Manly Yacht Club (MYC). The two clubs are adjacent to each other. This is a 2-minute walk from East Esplanade Reserve. Competitor Sign On and Sign Off locations will be advised during registration 9/01/2018 Page 5
During the weekend, Manly 16ft Skiff Club will be open for competitors, families and supporters from 8am and will be serving breakfast and coffee. During the week 15 to 19 January the Manly 16ft Skiff Club will be open from 10am on weekdays for coffee etc. and the bar opens from 11.00am. Male and female toilets, changing facilities and showers are available at Manly 16ft Skiff Club. Due to the high number of competitors and supporters it is likely to be very busy in the Club during this period. Care should be taken when using the showers and change rooms to avoid any slips or falls, etc. There are also male and female toilets located in East Esplanade Reserve. Lunch Orders During the regatta, Manly 16ft Skiff Club will provide a selection of rolls, fruit and pies at the Bistro from 11am. Power Boats The closest boat ramps to the Club are located at Little Manly Beach (very limited parking), Roseville and Tunks Park (Cammeray). The club wharf and boat pens are not to be used for the berthing of any vessel during the regatta except for club owned boats. The wharf end can be used by private boats for drop off and pick up only if it is not in use by M16SSC vessels. MYC has kindly agreed to allow their wharf and pontoon to be used as a temporary berthing area for the pickup/drop-off of volunteer race officials/coaches. Please note that MYC members will take precedence. At the discretion of Manly 16ft Skiff Sailing Club, small private boat such as RIB's may be tied up to the club wharf on the southern side (only). Don t Forget the Planned Social Events 1. Welcome BBQ on Saturday 13 January - A welcome BBQ is scheduled for the first evening (Saturday 13 th ) following racing and we hope that all sailors and their families can join in. Please note the event will be held Sunday 14 January if there is wet weather. 2. Surf n Slide Competitors Night 16 January - We have booked out Manly Surf n Slide from 6-8pm for the Flying 11 Sailors. It s the most fun you ll have getting wet (after sailing a F11). Competitor entry is free but you need to confirm your interest in attending at registration. 3. After Sailing BBQ s for competitors and volunteers From Sunday 14 January to 18 January (inclusive) there will be a BBQ on the grass for competitors. 4. Presentation Dinner on 19 January @ 7pm. Presentation dinner tickets need to be booked by the end of the 13th Jan (including the competitors). Please refer to the separate section regarding the presentation dinner on the website.
