LINE UPS Teams (Captain & Players) report to site 30 minutes before match time. Captain retrieves the line-up at the desk and completes it Captain turns in the line-up when all players listed are on site. Matches may be called early, so all players must be on site 30 minutes before match time. When individual courts are called, players will show the TD their picture ID (no USTA cards are necessary) Players meet their opponents and go to assigned court 10 minute warm-up.
Reminders from our Event Referee Becky Riggs Officials will be roving all courts Players on the court are controlling their match. If they have not requested an official captains and spectators can not request an official. If players request an official, they should raise their racquet to signal they need assistance. If an official does not see them in a timely manner, a captains or team mate may assist in calling for one or going to the desk. Foot Faults in direct view of Officials will be called as other rule violations All matches are to be played out, as most matches are round robin format and every game counts. Except for flights competing in Pool Play, in the Semi-Final Match ONLY, if a team has won 2 courts they may pull the last courts off to rest for the final. This must be decided and communicated to players before the start of the match. Any retirements are courts won for the opposing team.
Match Scores and Sportsmanship All players should use the score tenders at all times. When courts are assigned, the teams are told which is the home team and which is the visitor. Any ball that cannot be called out immediately and with 100% certainty is good. No lets or replays, especially if doubles partners disagree. At the completion of a match, shake hands and confirm the score before leaving the court. Then a winner and an opponent goes to the desk to report the score immediately. When all courts on a team match have been reported the captain signs the scorecard. It is then entered into Tennislink. Captains: Do not leave the facility without signing the scorecard. As players report the scores, they may complete a ballot to nominate a team for our Extreme Team Sportsmanship Award If a particular player displayed great sportsmanship, you may ask the desk volunteer for a sportsmanship pin to present to that player.
