March Hello dance Families, We have a very busy month ahead resulting in this newsletter being jam packed with all kinds of important information. Please be sure to read it fully and right to the end. We would hate for you to miss out on something due to not being informed. Class of the Month: The class of the month is Inter 2- every dancer has achieved their splits on both sides. This is a huge accomplishment the dancers have been working toward all year. Way to go Inter 2!!! Reminders: Lyrical will be combined on Thursdays for March. Lyrical 1 is to come at 4:45 5:45 and lyrical 3 is to stay from 3:45-5:45, and lyrical 2 will come at their normal time. Spring Fling: Mrs. B is coming to work with the musical theatre next Sunday March 6 th - everyone needs to be there. Parents please send your dancers with water. Students are reminded that they need to be following dress code and need to have their hair properly done BEFORE class starts. Approaching festival dates: April 12-17, schedule will be sent out later this week. Tech rehearsal week: March 20-24 at Portage College. Schedule will be sent out soon. General meeting Tuesday March 1 st at 7pm in the penalty box Costume pick-up 6pm March 1st There is no dance March 28 through till March 31 for Spring Break Spring Fling is just around the corner! Just a quick reminder, that tickets are $25 for those over 12 and $10 for those under 12. The doors will open at 2:30 for ticket holders. Just a friendly reminder, if you do not have a ticket you will not be able to watch the performances. Below you will find a list of volunteers and performance times. Every volunteer will need to sign in and sign out with Suzanne G. This is very important so we know who to give the appropriate credit too. Year End Tech Rehearsal: March 20-24 All Classes will be held in the theater at Portage College. Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled number, warmed up with costume on. Bring pants to wear over the costumes. Hair is required however make up is not necessary at this time. Parents are responsible for their dancers- please ensure an adult is present at all times. Please be quiet while in the theatre so dancers are not distracted, and instructors can communicate with dancers and backstage/ sound booth personnel. Only water is allowed in the theatre; please ensure garbage/ recycling are disposed of properly and to respect the facility. You are

invited to watch all of the performances all this week! This week of tech rehearsal will replace the full day of tech rehearsal we usually have in May. This is also a great opportunity for the dancers to be onstage before they perform at festival. Classes will only be ½ hour this week as the instructors need to share the stage. We thank you for your patience as the instructors work with the dancers on spacing and consider enter/exit cues, lighting and music cues. Schedule will be sent out later this week. Fundraising: We are currently looking for Pond Hockey Volunteers. Sign-up sheets are posted on the bulletin board outside the dance room. We are looking for 3 volunteers to work a Bingo March 6 th. There is a sign-up sheet posted outside the dance room on the bulletin board. We are doing another 50/50 draw, tickets will go on sale at our Spring Fling Event. These will be the last 3 fundraising opportunities for credit for the season. So if you have not completed you fundraising obligations as of yet be sure to sign up. NOT FOR CREDIT fundraising opportunity: If anyone is interested in selling Purdys chocolates, our club will put in an order to receive 25% of sales. Deadline March 8th -Order books are tacked to the bulletin board- Or login and order online Due to the high volume of volunteers needed for the Special Events Committees' Spring Fling, we will not offer a fundraising redemption for this one but, just wanted to trial a not-for-credit fundraising initiative. If you can help out and sell, please do. If you would like to sit this one out, that's fine too! Thank you for supporting our club. Online order info You are invited to participate in NBDA Fundraising Easter fundraiser.
