Herd Health We weaned the bulls on September 5 th with ground hay, 2 lbs. of cracked corn and distillers grain. The bulls were transitioned over to a mixed ration of earlage, distillers grain, QLF, sudan silage and ground hay where we targeted a 3lb/day gain. The bulls were slowly stepped up to a 46 mg cal. ration which consisted of 12 lbs. earlage, 2 1/2 lbs. distillers grain, 3/4 lb. QLF and 16 lbs. ground hay and silage. We like to keep the bulls on a high roughage diet and grow them out to ensure sound feet, legs and longevity of the bulls.
