Source: O Marchador (The Walker), the exceptional Portuguese race walking website (consulted October 8, 2015). In the third event of its kind under various names, the 2015 Wuzhong Race Walking Rally (unofficially dubbed the Tour de Wuzhong ) was held in a district just west of Shanghai, CHN from Sept 26 to 29. A large and high-quality international field (70 men and 40 women) now attends the unique event that involves a total of (this year) 47.6km of racing on four consecutive days over distances from 10km to 15.6 km. Total time determines the final standings. The races are fully judged, and actual DQs are possible. But more commonly, athletes serve timeouts of 30, 60 or 120 seconds for red cards. Two Canadians took part in this year s event: Evan Dunfee repeated his 2014 placing, finishing third in 3h18:53, with performances of 43:20 (10km 14 th ), 40:42 (10km 3 rd ), 49:27 (12km 4 th ), and 65:24 (15.6km 3 rd ). Iñaki Gomez finished 18 th in 3h26:25, with performances of 45:12 (10km 34 th ), 42:08 (10km 16 th ), 51:29 (12km 19 th ), and 67:36 (15.6km 15 th ).

Under the rules of the time, the best times in road events were listed only as Best Performances, with official records only recognized if done on the track. With the improvements in road course measurement, that distinction is no longer made. But for clarification, the best previous road time was 3h48:17, set by François Lapointe at the Olympic Games, Seoul, KOR on September 30, 1988.
