From the Principal I would like to say a big thank you to staff, students and families for another warm welcome to the Lauderdale Primary School Community. I will be undertaking the Acting Principal role from today with Mrs Johnston returning from leave at the end of March 2018. I am very much looking forward to helping ensure that students, staff and families are well supported in continuing to achieve the schools priorities for 2017. Term four is always a very busy time of the school year and there is much to look forward to in the coming weeks with many great learning opportunities on the horizon. I would also like to take the opportunity to revisit the values of Lauderdale Primary School. A High Expectation Culture, Learning Excellence, Equity, Respectful Relationships. The above values are what we should all be working towards and it is very pleasing to see so many examples of this in practice across the school, including today s school assembly. Finally a reminder that we will be having our School Association AGM tonight at 6pm. All parents, carers and friends of our school are welcome to attend. Kind Regards Ben Richardson Acting Principal Lauderdale Primary School Department of Education

Today s tip from Di Vickers: When help is needed wait about 5 seconds. Try these strategies to work out the word: Ask What would make sense here? Say Use the beginning letters and start to say the word. Ask, Is there a clue in the picture? Say, Re-read the sentence or Read ahead to the fullstop and come back to try it again or Break the word into smaller parts.
