SPRING SPORTS UPDATES: Baseball March 26 th vs G-Prep The boys got the week started in style with a 4-1 win over G-Prep. Braden DeSonia provided all the offence the Cats would need with a 2 RBI Single as Ben McKinnis & Cole Hattenburg shut down the pups. Softball March 26 th at Shadle Park Jesse Dupuis pitched a complete game 3-hitter vs the home team Highlanders as the Cats dominated in the 18-3 win vs the 3A rival. Katie McKinnis, Dupuis and Hannah Madsen had three hits apiece. Alli Schuerman had a pair of knocks including a Double. Kaitlyn Zemke also had a Double and Justine House added a Triple. Boys Tennis March 26 th at Lewis & Clark The Wildcats defeated the host Tigers 4-3. #1 Singles - Graham Clark won 6-1, 6-3 and #1 Doubles - Topher Wright/Adam Sonneland won 6-1, 6-4. NICE WORK CATS!!! Softball March 27 th at North Central Morgan Flesland tossed a complete game one-hitter for the Cats as they down the home team Indians 12-0. Jesse Dupuis had a day at the plate going 3 for 3 with a Single, Triple & HR driving in 5 Runs in the process. Baseball March 27 th vs Mead Stu Flesland took a no-hitter into the 5 th and struck out 11 Panthers en route to the win. The Cats racked up hits from Hill, Naccarato, Smith, Ayers and a Double from Mikey Tsuchida to defeat the visiting Panthers 7-0. Quentin Ayers led the way with 3 RBI for the Cats. Boys Golf March 27 th at Esmeralda GC GSL Event #1 The team finished 3 rd overall in the 1 st of 5 ALL-GSL Golf Tournaments. Special congratulations to Gunnar Knutson for finishing 1 st Overall with an outstanding round of 67. Landon Spencer shot a 72 and finished 5 th overall. Freshmen Cole Oster also played extremely well with a 77. London Sanders, Luca Paolino and Logan Miller also contributed to a great start to the GSL Season. GREAT WORK WILDCATS! Page 2 of 5
Softball March 29th vs Rogers The Wildcats controlled the Pirates from start to finish and defeated Rogers 10-0. Jesse Dupuis threw a one-hit shutout striking out ten as Ashton Cathey led the offence with a Double and a HR driving in 3 Runs in the win. Baseball March 29th at Mead The Wildcats completed another sweep of GSL contenders by routing the Panthers 18-0 at Mead. Mikey Tsuchida led the hit parade going 3 for 4 with a Double and 3 RBI. Brady Hill and Stu Flesland also finished with two hits apiece. Brady Hill pitched four strong innings and JT Smith finished off the Panthers in the fifth. Baseball April 2nd at Rogers The Wildcats routed the host Pirates 14-0 in five. The Cats were led by Tyler Staley s 3 hits. Stu Flesland, Mikey Tsuchida and Braden DeSonia each had two hits. Stu threw a complete game one-hitter striking out 9 Pirates in the process. Baseball April 3rd vs Rogers The Wildcats completed the sweep of the Pirates 12-2 in six. The Cats were led by Brady Hill s 3 hits, 3 stolen bases and two runs scored. Tyler Staley and Cole Hattenburg had two hits apiece. Cole earned the Win on the bump and Ben McKinnis came in to get the Save. BASEBALL BRADY HILL (JR) Brady went 6 for 8 in three wins last week with 11 Runs Scored and 11 Stolen Bases. GREAT WORK!!! WILDCAT ATHLETES OF THE WEEK AOTW Soccer: Kinkade McMurray (FR) Currently is tied for leading scorer with his brother Keegan. He's a center back and has played some amazing soccer to start the season. Our back line has been amazing. All his goals have been headers. Baseball: Brady Hill (JR) Brady went 6 for 8 from the plate with 11 runs scored and 11 stolen bases as the Wildcats opened the GSL season with two wins over LC and one over G-Prep. Page 4 of 5
Girls Tennis - Emily Meythaler (JR) Emily split sets with the #1 singles girl from Cheney. She then won the match in a super tie breaker, 14-12, after a muscle strain incurred during the first set! Gritty victory Emily!! Boys & Girls T & F - Co-Ed Chuck Millard Relay Team Out of 12 schools yesterday at the Ram Relays, the team of Mallory Flowers, Connor Hale, Hailey Schadt and Troy Engen won by over 10 seconds! Boys T & F - Jacob White (SR) 1st at Ram Relays in Long Jump with distance of 22' 0" Great start to the Season Jacob!!! Softball Jesse Dupuis (SR) WIAA Athlete of the Week: Jesse went 6 for 8 in three games before break with a HR, Triple, 9 RBI & 6 Runs Scored.
