THE RACE 1000 miles Notice of Race Date: October 17 October 31, 2015 Organizer: YC Biograd, YC Tkon and ORCA in cooperation with Yachtcharter Pitter Race Committee and Jury: Yachtclub Biograd, YC Tkon in cooperation with Gert Schmidleitner (IRO) Venue: Area from Biograd (Croatia) over Montenegro and Italy to Lefkas (Greece). For insurance reasons, the territory of Albania my not be entered and is considered a restricted zone. Regeln: The Race - 1000 miles is subject to the Racing Rules of Sailing published by the ISAF and the rules of the ORC (latest edition). For safety the Special Regulations Category 2 of the ORC apply. The Anti-Doping Rules of the Austrian Bundessportorganisation apply. The Two-Turns Penalty under RRS 44.1 and 44.2 shall apply. For one-design-classes and one-design-groups the rules for one -design-classes of the Austrian Sailing Federation apply. Approval to participate: Open for all yachts and catamarans approved by Yachtcharter Pitter. The decision of the approval is the exclusive right of Yachtcharter Pitter and is dependent on speed and features of the yacht. All boats must have a valid measurement certificate for ORC 2015 and have provide it no later than September 1, 2015 at Yachtcharter Pitter. For any costs of changes to the ORC certificate the participants has to pay (currently EUR 65,00 to EUR 95,00 for the measurement certificate, EUR 25, - measurement costs per sail, according to the current price list OeSV / HJS). All boats of the group with spinnaker are allowed to take with, use and change sails allowed by the rules of ORC All boats of the cruiser groups with and without spinnaker shall be equipped with a furler for genoa and are allowed to use only one headsail (genoa) - except a storm jib - and in class with
spinnaker only one additional sail (spinnaker or gennaker) during the entire race. The removal of furniture, doors, and equipment is prohibited. Yachts with devices such as trapeze or bracket used to move the weight of crewmembers outboard, are not permitted. All skippers must meet the legal requirements for skippering yachts on the whole route of the regatta. One person on board shall have compete on an ISAF Approved Offshore Personal Survival Training Course. Skipper and CoSkipper shall be member of a club affiliated to a national federation or be a direct member of a national federation. All yachts must be adequately insured against liability claims. In the cruiser class without spinnaker all yachts need an additional permission by Yachtcharter Pitter. This guaranties a homogeny class without optimized owner and racers yachts. Crew change: 50% of the Crew may be changed in Lefkas without the need of special reasons if this is announced till the entry closing date (14.8.2015). The obligatory Event Package for the new crewmember of 240,00 has to be paid in cash in Lefkas. It includes the official re-registration, the social program in Lefkas, price giving in Biogard and the event jacket. Briefings: Sunday, October 18, 2015, 09.00 hrs (Skipper and CoSkipper only) Monday, October 19, 2015, 09.30 hrs Starts: Race 1: Monday, October 19, 2015, 12.00 hrs Race 2: Monday, October 26, 2015, 12.00 hrs Scoring: There will be two races without discard. Scoring of all open groups except catamarans according to ORC Club - Performance Line. By failing to achieve the time limit, the current
position is extrapolated to a finish time. Overall results according to Appendix A of the RRS. Groups: One design class Bavaria Cruiser 40S with spinnaker. One design class Bavaria Cruiser 45 with gennaker. The groups of yachts with spinnaker receive a total score and will be scored according to The groups of cruiserss with spinnaker receive a total score and will be scored according to The groups of cruisers without spinnaker receive a total score and will be scored according to The group of catamarans with spinnaker receive a total score and will be scored according to Texel (if not possible according to Yardstick). Groups less than with five boats can be combined with other groups. In case of less than fife boats in a total score the entire group may be cancelled at entry deadline. The group shall be specified in the message by giving the entry and can be changed up to September 1, 2015. Changings after September 1, 2015 will need the approval of the organizer. For changes after September 1, 2015, a fee of EUR 100, - for the additional expense has to be calculated. Use of engine: The motors may only be used for battery charging, but not for propulsion during the races. Tracking system: All boats will be equipped with a tracking system. The positions of all boats can be followed in the internet. Advertising: Advertising on sails, hull and rails is allowed. The Croatian Sailing Federation may, according to the statute take a fee in the amount of EUR 28 (up to 12m LOA) or EUR 35 (over 12m LOA) for this regatta, which has to be paid by the participants.every other PR event or advertising during the event period is subject to approval by Charter Pitter. At the participating yachts following areas for advertising of the organizer must be kept 20% of the hull in the bow, backstay flags and parts of the boom. TV and press photos: Competitors agree that recordings may be done from participating yachts and persons onshore and offshore, and that these may be transmitted or printed with images and sound without any restrictions.

Event Package per yacht EUR 360,- Includes: tracking system, providing of sailmaker, divers and service team on location, mooring fees in the marinas from October 17 to October 31, 2015, entire organization and management of land,... Event Package per person EUR 480,- (you have to pay for at least 6 persons) Includes: Entire organization and management as grouping, race committee and jury, mark Laying, results, news coverage in internet and app, opening brunch, Dinner in Lefkas, breakfast buffet in Lefkas, award ceremony with multi-course meal in Biograd, use of marina facilities, The Race - 1000 miles gift, registration of competitors, press relations,... The event package includes the entry fee of HRK 100, - to the Croatian organizer Yacht Club Biograd. Method of payment: A first payment of 1.000, - is required within 14 days of entry. Boats whose payment is not made within 14 days will be removed from the entry list, to allow others to participate. The rest of the payment have to be done by August 14, 2015 Cancellation terms: In case of cancellation of the boat before August 14, 2015 the first payment will be forfeited. In case of cancellation of the boat after August 14, 2015 the first payment to the event package of the yacht will be forfeited, furthermore, the conditions for the cancellation of individual participants. In case of cancellation of individual participants after the August 14, 2015 200, - per person forfeited. The rest of the money paid will be refunded as a credit for another race.
Liability: Participants sail at their own risk (RRS4). The organizers and all entrusted with racing organization, are not liable for any loss, damage or injury which may occur to persons, yachts or otherwise. This applies on water and on land. Entryregulations: Entry closing: August 14, 2015 Late entries may be accepted with an additional late entry fee of 150per boat till to the end of registration. There is a registration limit of 65 boats that will be adhered to without exception. In addition there may be handed out three Green Cards. About the current entry level you can inform yourself at www.therace-1000miles.at. The order of accepting the entry will be the order of getting the entry and the order of getting the payment.
