Butterfly, Bird and Wildlife Craft Festival Butterfly, Bird and Wildlife Craft Festival Come to Sweetbriar Nature Center for a day of fun with birds, butterflies and much more.. It is the grand opening of our Butterfly House, so come and walk among over a 100 of these beautiful fliers and our brand new fairy garden.. Along with live bands and animal shows, there will be crafts, games, face painting, craft vendors, a plant sale and a Long Island Children s Author circle. Many not for profit animal rescue groups will be there with animals ready for adoption. Food and refreshments available. Kayaking will be canceled when: winds are over 15 MPH, OR it's raining, OR when thundershowers are predicted for that day in the area where we will be kayaking.
