Pattern In this pattern there are a total of 50 African flowers: 8 squares 8 pentagons 34 hexagons
African flower: Square Rnd 1: ch 5, with a sl st make a ring in the first ch Rnd 2: ch 3 (= 1 st dc), dc *ch 1 + 2 dc * x 3, ch 1, secure with a sl st Rnd 3: Go down into the next hole and make a sl st. Ch 3, dc, ch 1, 2 dc. *In the next hole make 2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc * x 3. Secure with a sl st in the 3 rd chain of the first dc. Rnd 4: Go down into the next hole and make a sl st. Wings (Make 2) All African flowers are crocheted with hook nr 3 (C/D) All the flowers have an extra rnd of sc in white around. To crochet the flowers together put the front of 2 flowers together and crochet in the back loops only. To make one wing you ll need to make: 4 squares 4 pentagons 17 hexagons When you have crocheted all the squares together, continue like this: Rnd 1-2: 1 rnds with sc in the opening of the wing, 2 in 1 in each place were two flowers meet as the picture shows.
Rnd 3-5: 3 rnds with sc all the way but with 2 dec on each shorts side of the opening, in total there are 4 dec on each rnd. Rad 6: 1 sc in each sc
To crochet both wings together you start with crocheting through both loops of both wings with the hook for as long as you can. It s about as far as you can go on the right picture below. After that you use your yarn needle and continue as before until the opening is closed. Stuff tight here so that the pillow will not bend.

Rnd 24: 1 dc dec (12) Rnd 25: dec in each dc (6) Antennas (make 2) Rnd 1: Ch 11 Rnd 2: 3 sc in 2 nd ch from hook, slip stich in each ch and sew to head Now you can sew the body to the wings. Sew the back of the body with a few stitches between the wings. The eyes have is bought in a craft store and the eyelashes and mouth is made with black Candy yarn.
