Dear Instructors, As per the decision of the governing body of Sagarmatha Taekwondo Dojang it is my great pleasure to extend this formal invitation to your Club to participate in Sagarmatha Poomsae Championships 2017, UK. To be able to organise this competition again will be a moment of pride for us where we will endeavour to promote healthy competition, fair play and best of sportsmanship. Since we have been putting the best of endeavours in nurturing the talents of our students at club level for a while, interclub championships such as this will serve as an opportunity for our students to display their skills to the full and exchange friendship amongst them. No age restriction Taeguek 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, koryo, Keumgang, Taebek, pyongwon, Shipjin. Performance consist of 60% foot technique and 40% hand technique of 60-90 second long with or without weapons. Competitors may be asked to perform any of the Poomsae from the set or Compulsory Poomsae. Two Poomsae must be performed in each round. The committee or organisers reserve the right to merge grades and ages per entries received. The decision of the Judge is the final.
Cut-Off System will be used 1 st Round: 20 or more competitors Semi-final: 9-19 Competitors or 50% from 1 st Round Final Top 8 Competitors (Groups with 9 competitors may be a straight final) 8. CLASSIFICATION OF RESULTS a. Awards Medals will be awarded to the top four athletes in the respective classifications of the pertinent championships: 1 st PLACE: GOLD MEDAL. 2 nd PLACE: SILVER MEDAL. 3 rd PLACE: BRONZE MEDAL. 4 th PLACE: BRONZE MEDAL. b. Overall Team Awards Based on the point system below, the top team will receive Club Champion Trophy in Poomsae : RATIONALE NO. OF POINTS AWARDED For every Gold Medal: 7 For every Silver Medal: 3 For every Bronze Medal: 1 For every Special Prize: 5 9. CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION Entry Fees: An entry fee of 25 per person or pair team whereas entry fee of only 10 per person on Individual Freestyle Poomsae shall be collected by the treasurer from the participating Club Instructors on behalf of his participants either prior to or at the time of registration at the Central Gymnasium. Visitors/Guests will be allowed entry upon the payment of 2.00 per person at the door. 10. CLOSING DATE FOR ENTRIES Closing date for entries - Registration must be completed by the latest of Monday, 18 December 2017. 10.00 will be added to the fee for the late entry. 11. HEAD OF TEAM MEETING & DRAWING OF LOTS SESSION All instructors are strongly advised to attend the pre-championships meeting in Brampton Barracks on Friday 22 December 2017. The meeting will start at 17.00 hours and will last for two hours. 12. REFEREES Instructors and Senior players are encouraged to involve in the official role.
13. WTF & SAGARMATHA TKD DOJANG RECOGNIZED TAEKWONDO UNIFORM (DOBOK) AND PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT a. Participating contestants are required to wear either Dojang recognized dobok or Poomsae dobok. 14. INDEMNITIES a. The respective club shall be responsible for ensuring that their participants have validly completed and signed the official participation forms, thus indemnifying the organizers, its officials and other contestants from any claims of injuries, losses, fatalities or otherwise arising in the course of participation in this championship or any activities there to. b. The respective clubs shall be responsible for ensuring that all officials and participants are covered with effective insurance coverage. c. Participants without proper participation entry forms and effective insurance coverage will not be allowed to compete at the championships.
