Two nominations were received for the position of Assistant to Secretary/Treasurer. Members were asked to lodge their vote for one of two nominees, Denise Reynolds or Gwen Steel. Three scrutineers, Lavinia Hill, Jan Phillips and Elaine Lyon collected and counted the votes. Denise Reynolds was elected. Requirement for another General Committee person Lindy Owen suggested that another person be appointed to Committee to help out in times of heavy workload and when committee members go on holiday. That person would attend committee meetings and when possible undertake training in various committee positions. President Jenny Schofield called for any persons interested in taking on the position. Gwen Steel advised that she would accept the position, seconded by Lavinia Hill. Monthly Medal and Club Championship playing format Joy Lewis advised the meeting that these two events are traditionally played in grades. She asked that the new Captain and Match Committee consider having these two events played in grades in the future. President Jenny Schofield advised that this motion did not need to be voted on. Lowering of the bunker on the 17 th hole President Jenny Schofield read out a general business submission from Norma Beard asking if the match committee could ask the main committee to lower the bunker on the 17 th fairway. This hole was designed to be played off the front tee. Fairway bunkers on any other courses are very low and do not have such high sides as these bunkers do on 17 th. The third fairway bunker was lowered and this was on the side of the fairway, not right in the middle as is the 17 th. Jenny Schofield advised that this issue had already been presented to the Executive Committee. Eclectic Competition - Linda Laws asked if anyone would like to see this competition started up again. Jenny Schofield advised it is available on the new computer system and that Match Committee will look into it. No further business. MEETING CLOSED: 1.52 pm.

President s Report to the Women s Annual General Meeting 2014. Welcome to our Annual General meeting (AGM) and thank you for your attendance today. This year our Ladies Committee gained four new members to add to our four existing members from the previous year. This was a big change as the previous Committee had only a little change over some years. For most of us this year presented a steep learning curve, but with support from within the committee and from past committee members we have been able to provide a year full of events. To the Committee, thank you for the time and effort you have put in throughout the year. The weather has been almost perfect for golf with very few days of rain. This has meant more days of golf for everyone and has helped keep our funds healthy enabling us to meet the costs for the year. We also made a record donation of $2,500 which was raised on the Pink Ball Day. This donation will help in the ongoing research into breast cancer. Thank you for your efforts on the day it was much appreciated. We have also had a record number of new members join us- twelve in all, a tally which most clubs would be envious of and again on behalf of the club welcome to those new members. A number of our members have had health issues, operations, and treatment for cancer. We have also had members who were sadly bereaved this year. It is lovely to see the support and care that our members give to one another in times of need. Well done ladies for helping each other meet the challenges of life. The Committee would like to thank all our volunteers who have helped us throughout the year. The ladies who bake, sell raffle tickets, give out meal vouchers, help with morning teas, check the cards, and donate their beautiful roses for Rose Bowl day. A special thank you to Rhoda and Sandy, our very experienced handlers of cards, who help us so often. Another special thank you goes to June and Marg who help us behind the scenes- it is much appreciated. Congratulations to all our winners this year, and a special congratulations to the Grade 3 Pennant Team who have won the Zone Pennant for the second year in a row. Joy Wright is stepping down from committee and we will miss her help and encouragement, but she will still be in the starter s box on a Monday which we are very happy about. Katie Male is also stepping down from her position but she will still be called on for her extensive knowledge of this club s history. We have learnt quite a lot from Katie this year. Gwen Steel is also stepping down to go travelling. Gwen updated the games rule book, the special events book, and recorded 2.

everything we need to know on a computer file which is easy to access! We thank her for all the good work she has done for us. On behalf of the lady members I would like to thank the ground staff for the work they do to keep the course in great condition, the kitchen and bar staff who look after us so well, and the pro shop for stocking a great range of ladies wear. All of these people have been so helpful in making this year a great success. A special thank you to Allan and the Administration staff for the ongoing support they give us. This year has been a very successful year and with our new committee members and your support we can make next year even better. Jenny Schofield Lady President Noosa Golf Club 2014

Womens Captain s Report to the Annual General Meeting 2014 I would like to thank you all for your attendance today. What a year! This time last year I joined the committee to be a dog s body and learn a few things about how a golf club should be run and also about the game. Little did I know what was in store for me. After being put in the situation of becoming the Ladies Captain, with lots of assurance from the committee that we could do this together, I accepted the position. I then went home and said to my husband, I now need to know how to email, will you please show me, and this he did. I could not believe how easy it was. I now can email, copy and paste, use excel and most importantly learnt how to save these documents, very important. And yes this committee has been a great bunch of ladies and we have all helped each other out when we have needed it. We gained two new committee members early in the year. These being Joy Wright who s experience was well utilised, but sadly she is leaving us. Joy will still be a starter for us, so I will still get my Joy cuddles. I hope all goes well for you next year, you deserve it. We also gained Life Member Kate Male. With Kate we all learnt a lot about how the golf club was established and about how special days came about. Especially when we talked about dropping the Ella Bowden Trophy, Katy told us NO WAY and if looks could kill, so we are therefore keeping the trophy!!! No messing with Kate. Kate is also leaving us. It s been a pleasure Kate - thank you. We have been very lucky with the weather this year and our Hosting Days have been very successful with all the volunteers and committee members putting in their all to make them great. Thank you all. Also a big thanks to Greens, the course is fantastic. Congratulations to all our winners especially our 11 year old Club Champion Naomi Moore. Our Pennant teams did really well this year and Div 3 did it again, well done ladies and also thanks to all the captains. Weekend Captain Barb Allen, Div 1 Captain Judy Patterson, Div 2 Captain Arlene Penlington and a special thanks to Elaine Lyons our Div 3 Captain who s arm I had to twist to take the job. What a woman. We are also losing Gwen Steele next year. Gwen s computer knowledge has been invaluable to me, we will all miss you waving your stick around. Good luck next year with your travels. Lastly it s back to me. I feel I have grown so much this year and it s all because of taking the role of Women s Captain. I have met some wonderful ladies that I class as good friends now. I would like to thank my committee for all the hard work they have done. We have certainly had our ups and downs but mainly ups. We have had a lot of fun. I would like to thank the past Captain s whose advice has made my job easier. I would especially like to thank all of you for having the faith and confidence in me, without having you behind me it would have been very difficult but instead I have enjoyed every step of the way, so thank you all. Denise Reynolds Women s Captain Noosa Golf Club
