2014/2015 Board of Governors President Bruce Caldwell President Elect Chris Roberts Secretary Kathy Henry Youth, Swim, and Tennis Chair TBD Dining/Social Chair Kathleen Harrington Membership Chair TBD Golf Chair Chris Roberts Golf Vice-Chair Tom Kupetis Greens & Grounds Chair Bill Henkelman Vice Chair of Green s & Grounds Tim Wiltshire Members at Large Doug Jeppesen Kathy Henry Dear Eagle Brook Members, I apologize for the delay in sending this month s Talon as I was waiting for details on the following exciting change taking place at your Club. On September 30 th, Eagle Brook Country Club, along with 47 golf courses held in the CNL Lifestyle Properties investment portfolio, was sold to Arcis Equity Partners, LLC. The other piece of exciting news that relates to this real estate transaction is Arcis has also announced a partnership with Dallas, Texas based Eagle Golf to recapitalize their golf course management firm. A result of this partnership will enable Eagle to operate as the management company of these properties. Going forward, Arcis will continue to invest to support the growth of Eagle s existing business and to develop a broader, full-service management platform. What does this mean for you as a member of Eagle Brook Country Club? The establishing of this business partnership will result in additional investment into the property. This investment may come in the form of capital for facilities upgrades and improvements. In addition, membership value and growth will be a major focus of Eagle Golf and you can expect to see changes beginning in January, 2015. At this point, I can t communicate specifics as they have not been shared with me. As soon as I receive updates, I will promptly share the details with you. While Eagle Golf has managed Eagle Brook in the past, this new organization is poised to provide a full suite of management services, added value to your membership and a fresh approach focused on the future of the game of golf and club programing. Many of the existing Eagle Brook staff have worked with Eagle in the past and look forward to their support and to re-establishing the relationship. On behalf of the Club staff and myself, please share with us your excitement as the next chapter in the history and upholding the traditions of Eagle Brook Country Club has begun. Message from the Superintendent - Greg Johnson 630.208.0211 Maintenance1500@EagleBrookClub.com Well, it s finally October and we re getting down to the last couple months of golf in Chicago. It s been a splendid summer weather-wise for growing grass; about as good as one as I can remember. It has been challenging for all of us, members and staff, going through this transition period, but I feel we ve positioned ourselves nicely moving forward. Our previous owners have supported the property by doing the right thing when it comes to maintaining Eagle Brook Country Club in the best way possible under trying economic conditions and infusing capital dollars where necessary. The golf course has not been slighted of any of the essential fall maintenance requirements, as is so often the case during the sale of a property. Aerification, fertilization, flower planting, winter disease spray applications and even Well pump repair upgrades are continuing on as scheduled. New ownership will be able to pick up the ball and run with it hopefully with your new enthusiasm and support. Aerification of the greens has been completed and the nice weather has helped them heal up quickly. Tees have been aerified and topdressed and the collars have also been punched. Solid-tine aerification of the fairways will begin the week of October 6 th, will have minimal inconvenience for the golfer yet provide a great benefit for the turf. Thanks again to those of you who have supported our tree program as we will be planting some new trees in the next month. It has and will make a difference to the property for years to come. While I have some labor in hand for the next month, we ll be trying to clean up some of the lake banks as we have done in the past this time of year. I hope to see you out here enjoying the prettiest time of the year! Thanks for your support, Greg Johnson 7

Eagle Brook Country Club Junior Golfer going to Augusta in 2015. On September 6,2014 at Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel, Indiana, Eagle Brook s Junior Club Champion, Jimmy Morton advanced to the Drive, Chip & Putt Championship National Finals to be held at Augusta National on April 5, 2015, the Sunday before the Masters... Jimmy advanced through local, sub regional and regional qualifiers in the oldest of four age groups, 14-15. He'll compete against nine other boys in his age group in the finals. Somewhat amazingly -- or not, because Marmion's got a pretty good golf team -- Cadets sophomore Nick Huggins also reached the Crooked Stick regional. The two boys had tied atop the leader board at the sub regional Aug. 16, 2014 at Oak Brook Golf Club. Only one could advance in Indiana, and 14-year-old Jimmy was the one. Good Luck Jimmy and have fun at Augusta! 8
