SEPTEMBER 10 Newsletter Page 2 P R E S I D E N T S M E S S A G E With September, several things come to mind. First, I hope we can finally see a break in the heat and get some much needed rain. Second, football season is here (Go Hogs!). Third, and most important, MCC will be the place to be. The Entertainment Committee has some great events planned, and this is my favorite time of the year to play golf or enjoy an evening ride on the back nine. Jeff has implemented the new menu with some great choices. Check your calendar and enjoy everything that MCC has to offer. While you re at it, encourage your friends to take advantage of being a member. Fall is a great time to join MCC. Congratulations to our 2010 Club Champion, Brian Petty. Brian played 3 days of great golf (even if he did lay up on the last hole!). Way to go Brian! Special thanks also to Jason and his staff who have worked extremely hard during the Maumelle Classic, the Club Championship and one of the hottest summers on record. I don t know if I have ever seen the course in as good condition. Take a minute to tell Jason how much we appreciate everything he, Andy and the staff do. Please cooperate with them while they are working on the course. Happy Hour Tues. Fri 5-7pm 10% Off Drinks Tues. Night Family Night Kids Eat Free w/ Adult Entrée The Rules Committee is in the process of reviewing and updating the Rules of Maumelle County Club. They should be sending updates to everyone very soon. Mark you calendars now for the General Membership meeting on October 17. Our Club has 3 Board position terms expiring this year. As we continue to move our Club forward it is extremely important that we select Board members with a passion for Our Club and a vision for its future. If you are interested in serving on the Board, please call Lisa for contact information for the Nominating Committee. Thanks for your support of Our Club and I hope to see you all during September!! John P. Neumeier F RO M YO U R G E N E R A L M A NA G E R Wow, school has started back, summer s almost over and hopefully some of the summer s sweltering heat will die down and we can have some more golf friendly weather with a little fall chill to the air. This is my favorite time of year, my daughter was born this time of season, close to the Holidays, Razorback football and basketball just around the corner and everyone seems a little nicer to one another. Most clubs are in a constant need for new members and we are no exception to that. If you are aware of anyone who might even be remotely interested in joining our fine club, please direct them to me or Lisa and we ll try our hardest to get them to join. We have added new members this year but we can always use more. It s the lifeblood of any club. I keep telling myself that I have to look at the long term goals of adding more members and that will keep me from being frustrated by my short term failures of not having quite enough at the present time. It s an ongoing process to grow this club, perseverance is the key. I like to think about a stonecutter hammering away at his rock perhaps a hundred times without as much as a crack showing in it. Yet at the hundred and first blow it will split in two, and I know it wasn t THAT blow that did it, but all the work that had gone before. We have a lot to offer as a club, I think we have the best golf course in Central Arkansas and we are the trendsetters for all the courses around us with our Champion Bermuda greens. We have got a great product and I will work harder to sell the sizzle! We have some exciting events planned for our members in the upcoming months, check your calendar for what we have planned and come out and join the fun! See you at the club, Jeff

Thank goodness for Champion Bermuda Greens. Not only have they made it through the summer in good shape, but are known around Arkansas as one of the best in the state! The rest of the course did pretty good this summer too, although the last few weeks of August has dried us out a bit. September is a very busy month for us on the golf course. We have many outside events, corporate outings and near the end of the month we will be gearing up for the Member-Guest! The course will be in great shape for the Member- Guest so I hope everyone brings out a friend to show off our Club! Have a great round. Jason Baker Golf Course Superintendent

Also, we had a celebrity on the course a few days ago. Kix Brooks with Brooks & Dunn played Maumelle Country Club while they were in town for a concert. Whooo Hooo!!! See you on the course! David Parks M WG A N E W S It has been such a hot summer, but we have had really good participation with the ladies of the MWGA. We had a good turn out for the Club Championship. Congrats to all our winners, especially Janet Taylor-Women's Club Champion and Wilma Horton- Women's Senior Club Champion. Special Thanks to Wanda Hartness and Kathe Parson for working with Carey to make it all come off without a hitch. Though there is some debate about the effectiveness of such a diet plan, many nutritionists and dieters seem to think that it is a great weight loss strategy. The reasoning behind the high protein diet is that proteins make you feel fuller quicker and for a longer amount of time. This enables you to go through your day without feeling hungry2016 and reaching for unhealthy snacks. The calories in the protein will last longer, meaning you will eat less of them in the long run, which allows you to lose weight more easily.
