The Event Tournament Aims The Australian Hellenic Golf Open is organised and administered by the AHGF. The AHGF consists of a number of Greek social clubs and individual members. There are approximately 200 federation members from across Australia. To promote and develop the game of golf within the Hellenic community of Australia. Our eleventh annual Australian Hellenic Golf Open will be held at Moonah Links Golf Club, the home of the Australian Open. Moonah Links is a premier golf club boasting two championship courses, the Open and the Legends. Our two day event will be held on October 22nd & 23rd just prior to the much celebrated Melbourne Cup and Spring Carnival weekend. It is anticipated that over 120 players will participate from around Australia and overseas in this 36 hole handicap stroke event. To raise funds for a nominated charity or organisation involved in the support and promotion of the health, cultural and sporting development of the Hellenic community in Australia. The Australian Greek Welfare Society is the nominated charity for the 2016 Open. To use golf as a vehicle to foster and strengthen cultural and sporting links with Greece. To introduce and promote golf at the junior level and nurture young talent through junior golf programs. To provide an opportunity for our corporate partners to showcase their product and services to all members of the AHGF, AHGO participants and golf industry.
Tournament Projections Links with Greece As Melbourne is the largest populated city of Hellenes, outside of Greece and with over 1.5 Million golfers in Australia, the potential to reach each of these golfers, thus placing your brand in the forefront of their minds. The development of this tournament and the overall concept of bringing Greek Australians together at a sporting and cultural level inspired the Hellenic Golf Federation and Greek Government, to organise an annual tournament in Greece for all Greeks abroad. This tournament, now known as the 'Omogeneia' tournament, is held at the Costa Navarino golf club in the Greek region of Messinia. The tournament is proudly supported by the AHGF and Glyfada Golf Club, Athens. Golfers in Australia spend over AUD $400 million dollars per annum making this attractive to any organization who supports this sport and past time. This also includes the female participation of over 300,000 golfers. The Australian Hellenic Golf Federation has a successful history of providing exceptional service and value to our numerous corporate partners. Sponsorship Categories Major Sponsor $ 5,000.00 Advertising: Your company will be identified as a major sponsor for this event in any media releases, announcements and advertisements in radio, newspapers, television and AHGF website. Brochure: Coloured printed brochures of the proposed program will include your company s name and logo as major sponsor. Polo Shirt: Your company s logo will be embroided on the official AHGO s polo shirt. This will advertise your company s support for the open, during and well after the event. Posters: Posters promoting the competition will display your logo and company s name and will be displayed at various outlets across Australia. Banners / Hole Sponsorship: Premium signage with your company s logo and name will be provided and situated on a prominent hole during the competition. If signage already exists we would be more than happy to accommodate any amount of signage you could provide. Tournament Participation: 2 Complimentary Entries to participate in the tournament. Tournament Sponsor s Function: 2 Complimentary Invitations to the tournament sponsor s Function. Presentation: Representation from your organisation will be involved in presenting the daily prizes during the tournament and have the opportunity to address participants on theses occasions. All sponsors will be acknowledged at presentation. Promotional Material: Inclusion of any of your organisation s promotional material within the tournament package distributed to all participants.
