Each club A1 team may register a maximum of two (2) current Premier League players. Late registration of current Premier League players by member clubs will not be permitted. Discussion followed N/C is unhappy with this motion. They believe the A1 Competition should be as strong as it possibly can be. registered a team of 10 before registrations closed; they had one injury and have 3 shift workers. This left them with only 6 able to take the court. They have already had one team forfeit against them. suggested if the motion be carried then a limit should also be placed on junior club teams and how many reps they are allowed to have. advised that they are a club team who only want to be able to field a team of 7 players each week The President stated that this motion would allow for a fairer more even competition. Two Premier League players will still be permitted to play in each A1 Team; however they must be registered before registrations close. The Tournament Coordinator stated that Netball NSW originally was not allowing any Premier League player to play in their local competition. They then overturned this decision however Stingrays still disallowed this to happen for the 2016 season.
Registrar Kerry Phillips advised that A1 is a local competition and should be kept as such. SSNA are just trying to keep the competition fair for all. to re-write their own motion for the next meeting removing the last sentence of the original SSNA motion. GENERAL BUSINESS: Crazy Hair & Sock Day Sat 20 th May. Two GIANTS players will be attending along with NOVA Radio. Julian Finch from Finch Financial is sponsoring Stingrays for 2017. Any business he receives through SSNA, he will donate 20% of his commission to SSNA. The same scenario will apply to the clubs. The President will be meeting with the council on Monday to do a walk around of the courts. There are quite a few issues to discuss: - mould and dirt on courts, overhanging trees. Uneven surfaces. Bosco has received scam emails posing to be the President of their club. Jannali, Eagles and Barden Ridge have also received the same. Clubs are reminded to be diligent.
