The club offers classes for juniors up to 20 years of age and of all levels, from International athletes to beginners. Judo is a fascinating Olympic sport, ideal for all ages, males or females and attracts many disability groups. Judo training is an ideal form of physical exercise and it serves as a great cardiovascular workout, which improves stamina, general health and overall fitness. Confidence and self-esteem are enhanced as a child progresses through the ranks and the very nature of the grading system ensures that the next goal is always realistic and achievable with effort. Most importantly our club promotes a fun, physical and disciplined environment where children from ages 5+ come to be active, learn and enjoy themselves." Contact us for more information. www.ultimatestormcheer.com Email: coachlouise@ultimatestormcheer.com Tel: 07741 276 248 Ultimate Storm Cheer and Dance Penicuik & District YMCA-YWCA Penicuik Y has most of the funding in place to bring back into community use the adjacent sports court at Queensway. The proposed full replacement of this derelict facility will provide for football, hockey and tennis on the floodlit all-weather surface. With the Legacy 2014 Active Places Fund and the Armed Forces Community Grant Scheme providing the bulk of the required funds, it is hoped that work will commence in June and be completed within 2 months. This addition to community sport facilities, for which there is an increasing demand, particularly as far as tennis and hockey are concerned, will further develop the school-to-community club links. The Y has excellent indoor facilities for Karate, Tae Kwan Do, Tai Chi, Badminton, Table Tennis, fitness training and Breakdancing; as well as meetings, seminars, parties and, soon to be refurbished, soft play. Contact Penicuik Y at 51 Queensway on 01968 674851, email: info@penicuik-y.co.uk or visit www.penicuikymca-ywca.org.uk Penicuik Curling Club Penicuik Curling Club is one of the oldest curling clubs and approaches its bicentenary in 2015 with immense pride. The club has a mix of male and female members and accepts junior members (age 14 upwards). We are an active club within the Midlothian Province of the Royal Caledonian Curling Club and play at Murrayfield in Edinburgh. When weather permits, we play outdoors on the Low Pond in the Penicuik Estate. Games take place at various times throughout the week. The club is involved in a number of fund-raising events as it moves towards the bicentenary and hopes to encourage new players into the club especially younger members. We are a friendly, sociable club and welcome both beginners and experienced players as new members. Individuals are eligible either if they reside in the Penicuik area or if they have a connection to the town. If interested please contact W. Brown (Secretary) on 01968 673050 or J.
