4. FIRST AID MEASURES If poisoning occurs, immediately contact a doctor or Poisons Information Centre (Telephone 13 11 26), and follow the advice given. Show this Material Safety Data Sheet to a doctor. If poisoning via the oral route occurs seek immediate medical advice. Do not induce vomiting. Wash out mouth with water. Provide washing facilities in the workplace (including eye-wash). Symptoms of overexposure relate to failure of the blood clotting mechanism and include bleeding gums and failure of blood clotting after skin wounds. Other symptoms may include shock, nose bleeding, bloody vomiting, abdominal pain and back pain. If poisoning occurs apply basic aid and decontamination procedures. Consideration should be given to administering activated charcoal to prevent further absorption. Vitamin K1 (Phytomenadione) is antidotal. Administer Vitamin K1 regularly IV or orally until clotting times return to normal and remain normal. In severe poisonings, blood transfusions may be required. 5. 6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES After spillage/leakage: The nature of this product, when contained in commercial packs, makes spillage unlikely. However, if significant amounts are spilled, the following advice is applicable. Avoid contact with spilled product. Take up with absorbent material (e.g. sand, earth or a proprietary absorbent material). Clean contaminated floors and objects thoroughly, observing environmental regulations. Pack spilled material in suitable containers for recovery or disposal. 7. HANDLING AND STORAGE Handling: Storage: Keep out of reach of children. Poisonous if swallowed. Will irritate the eyes. Repeated minor exposure may have a cumulative effect. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Do not touch bait. Store product in the closed, original container in a dry, cool, well-ventilated area.
