then Joseph Bright on 73 mins and Yaw Danso two minutes later wrapped it up for the Seasiders. But I can say, that, despite this score, London Bari are certainly entertaining which should reap reward in the not to distant future. Sporting Bengal United brushed themselves down and started afresh after the woes of their midweek result and beat Hullbridge Sports 3-1 even though Kurtis Clarke had the visitors taking a 22 min lead only for Javier Rivera, Abdul Bari and Shamsun Noor to reply on 24 min 26 mins and 89 mins respectively When it comes too spectacular starts none better than at Enfield 1893 who welcomed FC Romania only for John Bricknell to score in 3 mins, 5 mins and 7 mins followed by Jake Gididngs on 12 mins and John Bricknell once again in 34 mins. In the meantime, Dimitrie Falpau had pulled one back on 20 mions but the second half saw only two more goals albeit from FC Romanai when George Marin 55 mins and Andru Bagiu 81 mins scored. Member clubs from the Ryman Isthmian League and the Skrill Conference have now entered the equation, alongside Colchester, Southend and Dagenham & Redbridge from the Sky Bet Football League. Essex Senior Leaguers Wakering pulled one of the plum ties in Colchester, while Southend travel to face Ryman League Division One North side Harlow. Dagenham will entertain Romford in the last 32, while neighbours AFC Hornchurch begin their defence at home to Bowers & Pitsea. 2013 runners-up Grays Athletic visit 2012 winners Canvey Island and there will be a South Essex derby when Aveley take on East Thurrock United. s tie against Stansted guarantees one survivor from the First Round will progress, as well as ensuring there will be at least one Step Five representative in the last 16. Nine ties have been played so far involving the county s Essex Senior and Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties League sides, with just the Second Round clash between FC Clacton and Brightlingsea Regent yet to be completed. The secretaries of those clubs - Barry Leatherdale and Tom Rothery - were responsible for the home and away draws respectively at the New London Road studios, with Glenn Speller from BBC Essex also in attendance. The deadline for the completion of these ties is 2nd November. October 2013 DON WATTERS t is with sadness that the Essex Senior League announce the passing of Don Watters, former Manager of Sawbridgeworth Town, Stansted and Takeley and iconic figure in the history of the League. His success with teams gave the League much to write about over many years and his ability to cause a " shock" was legend. Herts Senior Trophy wins at the old Ware ground for the Robins, nurturing Gary Hart to glory at Stansted and Cup success with Takeley were just a very small but memorable part of his contribution to the Essex Senior League and further advice was then on hand to clubs like Nortel and Bishop's Stortford for which everyone involved can all be grateful. In offering our sincere condolences to all of Don's family, he was a character one can never forget and for that we can all count ourselves most fortunate to have known him, Robert Errington - Chairman With one minutes silence at games in memory of Don Watters, all eyes were on Great Wakering Rovers who travelled to one of his old clubs, Stansted and found the home side in battling form as they went in at half time honours even and no goals scored. That didn't last for long as Jake Buckland opened for Stansted within four minutes of the restart but Billy Radley replied in 52 mins before Gary Rowntree put Stansted ahead once again in 70 mins then the League Leaders came into their own, first with Aaron Baldwin netting on 78 mins followed by two more from Billy Radley in 80m and 84 mins. On Wednesday night, in the Gordon Brasted Memorial Trophy, Great Wakering Rovers beat a 32 year scoring record for the Harry Fisher/Gordon Brasted Trophy matches with a 10-2 win over Sporting Bengal, Player Manager, Dan Trenkel scoring four times. Previous best was Bowers United 8-0 over Eton Manor in 1983-84 and the 8-2 Burnham Ramblers Final win last season. Sawbridgeworth Town, whom Don also so successfully managed, visited in form and came away with a 3-0 victory thanks to two from Billy Jones and one from a Danny Hammet. Takeley, also formerly managed by Don took a trip to Capershotts to meet Eton Manor and went 1 up in nine minutes when Dominic Haynes scored. His second goal in 75 mins and one from Michael Richardson on 85 mins were one better than Eton Manor whose goals were scored by Ashley Wackesr in 55 mins and Nicky Reinolds on 88 min entertained Tower Hamlets and the visitors went ahead on 30 min goal by Stephen Brown. They then extended that 5 mins later with a Paul Burnett strike. Despite Ben Turner reducing the deficit in 55 mins, Tower Hamlets held on to all three points. Three points also went the way of Haringey Borough, at Basildon United despite Remi Sutton putting the home team ahead in 44 mins. Anthony McDonald in 70 mins and Cedric Lakole 77 mins replied. Greenhouse London got their first three pointer of the season with a 1-0 victory over Bowers & Pitsea thanks to a single Harry Honesty goal in 70 mins. Even later than that, in fact, 90+2 mins came the winner from the boot of Eden Nelson for Ilford against London Apsa. At Southchurch Park, a ground that survived another ghastly night of rain, London Bari visited and battled bravely to keep on terms as much as they could, and, in fact, only an own goal on 22 mins was enough to separate the sides at half-time with Southend Manor seeing a penalty hit the crossbar. The second half was only three minutes old when Mark Sisson made it 2-2 and
