The grant is only available to teams that have entered the Suhandinata Cup. The grant is only available to teams that take part in the host s cultural activity program. Teams who finished in the top 15 of the Suhandinata Cup in either 2017 or 2018 will not be eligible for financial assistance. PARTICIPATION GRANT CALCULATION The participation grant is available for teams to spend on travel and accommodation and is available as follows to eligible teams: Eligible teams approximate flight distance (from Capital City of MA to Kazan International Airport - up to 4,000 Km - $3,500 USD Eligible teams approximate flight distance - (from Capital City of MA to Kazan International Airport - between 4,001 Km- 9,000 KM - $5,000 USD Eligible teams approximate flight distance - (from Capital City of MA to Kazan International Airport)) - over 9,001 KM - $6,500 USD 2 P a g e

Distances between Capital Cities are established by GPS and are fairly consistent across websites detailing such information. The website BWF are using for this purpose is www.timeanddate.com (click on Calculators tab and select Distance Calculator). TRAINING CAMP/COACHING CLINIC To enrich the experience of the participants a training camp/coaching clinic would be run in conjunction with the event at a separate nearby venue (8 and 9 October 2019). PROCESS Eligible teams must indicate their desire to be included for consideration for the Participation Grant by email before Tuesday 25 June 2019. Eligible players Players are eligible provided they remain under 19 years of age throughout the calendar year in which the World Junior Championships are held. Players must have been born in 2001 or later to compete. BWF may require documentation supporting the age of players. Visas The Organising Committee will facilitate the application procedure to obtain a Russian visa by providing an official Letter of Invitation for all participants of the WJC 2019. Organising Committee will issue the Letter of Invitation upon the request from the National Federations, sent to the official e-mail address: visa.support@dspkazan.com by the deadline of September 20, 2019. Request for the Letter of Invitation must contain participant s scanned copy of a valid passport (the passport expiry date must be no earlier than April 16, 2020) and personal data as specified in the Visa Application Form enclosed. On the basis of the information received, the Organising Committee will issue the Letter of Invitation, which will be sent to the participant and to the National Federation by e-mail indicated in the form. Upon receiving the Letter of Invitation, the participant is to collect all the documents in accordance with the requirements of the Embassy/Consulate of the Russian Federation and submit the documents, together with the Letter of Invitation issued by the Organising Committee, to the Embassy/Consulate of the Russian Federation, no earlier than one month prior to the event. Members placed 1-8 in the previous World Junior Team Championships are allowed to enter: Members entering a team in the World Junior Team Championships but not placed 1-8 are allowed to enter: Members not entering a team in the World Junior Team Championships are allowed to enter: MS WS MD WD XD 4 4 6 6 8 3 3 4 4 6 2 2 2 2 2 Details of the Team Championships for the Suhandinata Cup as per BWF Statutes, Section 5.2.1: Major Events Tournament Regulations Table Entries for Team Event Each competing Member Association shall by Tuesday 17 September 2019 before the commencement of play in the Competition, nominate 20 players that the team will be selected from. Teams shall be required to play ties comprising: one men s singles; one women s singles; one men s doubles; one women s doubles; one mixed doubles. Note: No player shall play in more than two matches in the tie. The minimum size of team for each tie is two male and two female players. 9 P a g e

The tournament shall be held in two stages a first and a final stage First stage: In the first stage all teams shall play in groups of four or five teams OR groups/subgroups of six to eight teams, divided into two sub- groups (with 3 or 4 teams) where all teams play all other teams in the same group/subgroup as applicable. An overall ranking order in the group shall be achieved. For 17 to 32 teams entering there shall be four groups and 8 subgroups in the first stage. For 33 to 80 teams, there shall be eight groups and 16 sub- groups. Ranking for first stage The participating teams will be ranked based on the overall strength of the team. Method of Competition for the Team Event The overall strength of the team will be determined based on the World Junior Ranking list as stated in the time lines in Section 5.3.2 of the BWF Statutes. Total ranking points of highest ranked one men s singles player, one women s singles player, one men s doubles pair (two highest ranked male players), one women s doubles pair (two highest ranked female players) and one mixed doubles pair (highest ranked male player and highest ranked female player) from each country shall be compared to determine the overall strength of the team. Where no world ranking is available the ranking points will be taken as zero. World Junior ranking points of Mixed Nationality pairs ranking points shall not be included in the team ranking. On such determination, all the teams will be ranked in their order of strength Final stage: The final stage shall consist of a series of ranking competitions. Each ranking competition shall be played similar to a knockout draw (with winning teams progressing to the next round), but with losing teams going on to play losing teams from the same round in further sub-competitions until a total ranking for the teams in that ranking competition has been determined. Each team shall play in the ranking competition determined by its place in its first stage group. The winner from each first stage group shall play in a ranking 10 P a g e

competition to determine overall rankings 1 to 4, 1 to 8 or 1 to 16, depending on the number of groups in the first stage. The 2 nd team from each first stage group shall play in a ranking competition to determine overall rankings 5 to 8, 9 to 16, or 17 to 32, depending on the number of groups in the first stage The 3 rd (4 th, 5 th etc.) team from each first stage group shall play in similar ranking competitions to those in Regulation 3.3.4 and 3.3.5 to determine further appropriate overall rankings. If there are five or fewer teams in the last group they shall all play each other for the final ranking. A vacancy in a ranking competition draw due to a team withdrawn in the first stage shall be filled by a team from the next lower group, drawn by lot. 11 P a g e
