He allowed one run (earned) on five hits while fanning eight batters. In four games, he batted.438 with 11 runs batted in, five home runs, six runs scored, a double, a slugging percentage of 1.438 and an on-base percentage of.471. He blasted a home run in the first game of the series, a loss to the ThunderWolves. But Stouffer hit his stride in Friday s second game, going 2-for-3 with a double and a home run in a 6-5 victory. His home run in the second inning broke a 2-2 tie and Metro State held the lead the rest of the game. On Saturday, Stouffer tied a school record in the 19-2 win by blasting three home runs and came within one RBI short of the school record as he drove in seven.

2010 RMAC Baseball News & Notes Colorado Christian University (11-24, 5-14 RMAC) Top Pitcher: Jake Logan (Junior, Pitcher, 6-3, Paola, Kan./Kansas State) Colorado Christian won one of four games against Regis on Thursday and Friday. They lost game one, 1-6, before bouncing back to win game two, 15-11. They dropped both of Friday s game by scores of 18-5 and 17-5. The Cougars will play at Colorado Mines April 7 in a non-conference game, and then in a four game conference series April 9-10 at CSU-Pueblo. Colorado School of Mines (6-18, 3-16 RMAC) Top Pitcher: Cris Rogers (Senior, Right Handed Pitcher, 6-0, Billings, Mont./Billings West HS) Rogers scattered six hits and surrendered just two earned runs in 7.0 innings pitched in CSM s 4-3 eight-inning loss at NMHU during game two of a doubleheader on Apr. 2 at Brandt Field in Las Vegas, N.M. NMHU hitters managed just a.240 average in 25 at bats against Rogers, who compiled a 2.57 ERA in his lone appearance last week. Rogers has a 3.86 ERA in six appearances (five starts) this season and has yielded just six walks while striking out 26 in 35.0 innings pitched. Top Player: Anthony Siderius (Senior, Catcher/Designated Hitter, 6-0, Castle Rock, Colo./Douglas County HS) Siderius went 7-for-14 (.500) with two doubles, four runs scored, two runs batted in and a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage (16 total chances) in CSM s four-game series at NMHU on Apr. 1-3. Siderius, who is now hitting.402 (87 at bats), leads the Orediggers in hoome runs (tied - three), hits (35), doubles (10) and walks (15). He leads the team in on-base percentage (.495) and slugging percentage (.621). Siderius, who has a.990 fielding percentage in 103 total chances, is third on the team with 16 runs batted in. Team Notes: Junior first baseman Elliott Riege, whose 25-game hitting streak ended in the series opener at NMHU, is hitting.421 (32-for-76) this season. The Orediggers leader in home runs (tied - three) and the owner of a team-second-best 19 runs batted in, Riege has a.471 on-base percentage and a.605 slugging percentage. By going 1-for-4 in CSM s series finale at NMHU, sophomore catcher/designated hitter Bryan Coday (.343 in 35 at bats) extended his current hitting streak to 10 games. Senior infielder Craig Matsuda, who is hitting.347 (34-for-98) and leads the squad with 21 runs batted in, is second on the team in hits (34) and runs scored (tied - 21). Redshirt freshman catcher Jordan Williams is hitting.364 in 10 games played (33 at bats) this season. Junior outfielder Nick Wong (.304 in 92 at bats) leads Mines in runs scored (22) and stolen bases (12). As a whole, the CSM pitching staff has recorded 135 strikeouts while surrendering just 94 walks. In eight appearances (all starts) and a combined total of 45.0 innings pitched this season, senior left-handed pitcher Cory Ast (1-4) has 37 strikeouts while surrendering just 21 walks. Senior right-handed pitcher Marshall Schuler has 29 strikeouts in 34.1 innings pitched (eight appearances all starts). Seven of redshirt freshman outfielder Bobby Egeberg s 15 hits are doubles. Thirteen of the Orediggers 18 losses have been by three runs or less. The Orediggers are scheduled to host Colorado Christian in a nine-inning non-conference game on Apr. 7 at 6 p.m. at Darden Field. Mines is also scheduled to host Mesa State in a four-game series Apr. 9-11. Colorado State University-Pueblo (15-16, 9-9 RMAC) Top Pitcher: Cole Stephens (Senior, Starting Pitcher, 6-2, Amarillo, Texas/Texas Tech) Stephens pitched eight innings at Metro State in a 19-4 Pack win on Friday. He allowed three earned runs on nine hits and fanned six batters while walking only one. Stephens earned run average for the game was 3.38. Top Player: Kyle Wager (Junior, Catcher, 6-4, Globe, Ariz./Eastern Arizona/Globe HS) Wager drove in seven runs in a four game series at Metro State, including four runs in game one. In that game, he went 2 for 4 with two runs scored and two home runs. He belted out another home run in game four of the series. Wager batted.400 against the Roadrunners and he scored three times. He was errorless in the field in 21 attempts (19 putouts, two assists).

2010 RMAC Baseball News & Notes Mesa State College (18-11, 14-7 RMAC) Top Pitcher: Jack Amidei (Senior, Right Handed Pitcher, 6-0, Denver, Colo./Dixie State/Heritage HS) Amidei worked 3.0 innings on the mound against Nebraska-Kearney this past weekend, earning two saves as the Mavericks split the series. In his first appearance, Amidei pitched 1.0 inning and surrendered one hit (no runs) and struck out two batters for his first save of the weekend in a 6-3 win. In game three of the series, he went 0.2 innings with one hit allowed. In the series, Amidei allowed one run (earned) on four hits with four strikeouts, one walk and a 3.00 earned run average. Top Player: Marty Rover (Senior, Catcher/First Base, 6-2, Tempe, Ariz./McClintock) Rover collected nine hits on 15 at-bats (.600 average) in four games at home against Nebraska-Kearney. He tallied two hits in each game except in the first game of the series when he went 3 for 5 with four runs scored. Both of his runs batted in this past weekend came in game two. Defensively, he was errorless with 42 putouts and one assist. Metropolitan State College of Denver (15-14, 12-6 RMAC) Top Pitcher: Bradshaw Perry (Junior, Pitcher/Short Stop, 6-2, Aurora, Colo./Lamar CC) Perry shut down Colorado State-Pueblo on Saturday in a 19-2 win, his best outing of the season. He went six innings and allowed just one run and four hits, while striking out four. The ThunderWolves hit just.190 off him in the game. Top Player: Jordan Stouffer (Junior, First Base, 6-2, Fort Collins, Colo./Rocky Mountain HS) RMAC/Rawlings Player of the Week New Mexico Highlands University (25-6, 15-3 RMAC) Top Pitcher: Trent Evins (Senior, Right-Handed Pitcher, 6-0, LaGrande, Oregon) Evins earned his fourth win of the season as he shutdown the Orediggers, allowing just three hits and no earned runs in six innings on the mound. In the 10-2 home win, Evins struck out four batters while walking one and allowing one extra base hit (double). Top Player: Jason Carr (Senior, First Base, 6-5, Puyallup, Wash.) Carr tallied four hits in game four of their home series against Colorado Mines. In that game, he went 4 for 5 with five runs batted in, a home run and one run scored. In the series opener on Thursday, Carr went 3-3 with three RBI, three runs scored, a double and a home run, and he drew two walks. For the series, he batted.571 (8-14) with five runs scored, nine runs batted in, two home runs and a double. Defensively, he was errorless on 46 attempts. Regis University (13-16, 9-11 RMAC) Top Pitcher: Charlie Henderson (Sophomore, Right Handed Pitcher, 6-1, Centennial, Colo./Arapahoe HS) RMAC/Rawlings Pitcher of the Week Top Player: Dave Holland (Sophomore, Third Base, 6-0, Centennial, Colo./Arapahoe HS) In four games and 17 at-bats against Colorado Christian, Holland batted.529 with nine hits, seven runs scored, six runs batted in, four doubles, a triple, a home run and four walks. In Friday s doubleheader, he went 6 for 10 with six RBI, five runs, two doubles and a triple. Holland posted a.591 on-base percentage and an.882 slugging percentage in the four game series. University of Nebraska at Kearney (20-14, 9-10 RMAC) Top Player: Andrew Haake (Junior, First Base, 6-4, Beatrice, Neb./Cloud County CC/Beatrice HS) Haake hit a grand slam in the second and eighth innings in the series opener at Mesa State to lead the Lopers to a 24-18 win. He finished the game going 3 for 6 with three runs scored and nine runs batted in. For the series, he batted.313 with five hits, 10 RBI, four runs scored, two home runs, one double and 33 putouts. Team Notes: Junior Ricky Muir tied the school record for saves in a season (7) in Saturday s series finale. Junior outfielder Patrick Oliver hit two home runs in Saturday s first game and tied Haake for the team-lead in RBI s in the series.
