Captains Cup expenditure Steve Alger brought to the committee s attention the fact that the 610 total cost for the Captains Cup competition had reduced the sections financial balance by over 50% with the food bill at 440 accounting for 72% of the total cost. Steve added that to be fair to members who attended the majority of events, and by doing so contribute most to the section funds, there should be some qualifying conditions attached to free meal entitlement such as a minimum number of events to be attended. This was supported by the committee. AP May02 Steve Alger to submit motion at next year s AGM to introduce qualification criteria for the free meal at the Captains Cup event Wine Raffle for Home Inter-club matches Steve Alger sought approval from the committee to purchase 12 bottles of wine to be used as raffle prizes at home inter-club matches with the profits going into section funds. This had been trialled at the recent home match versus Drax and had resulted in a 20 profit which has been paid into section funds. Proposed Steve Alger Seconded Ron Wicks This was unanimously approved. Steve Alger thanked Peter Roberts for obtaining the wine for the trial run. AP May03 Peter Roberts to purchase 12 bottles of wine on behalf of the committee. Committee Day Steve Alger said that he had been quizzed by a number of members regarding the running of a Committee Day This has not been run in the past 2 seasons and was last run to reduce the section financial balance which had grown very large. Taking into account the sections current balance it was felt prudent to postpone this event this year and review the situation near the end of the season with regards running it next season if the sections balance could support it. Seniors Inter-Club Fixtures / Results Review The story so far. Following the postponement of our first fixture versus Sutton Park we have played 2 fixtures, away to Skidby and at home to Drax. Both fixtures have unfortunately ended in heavy defeats although the majority of the individual matches have been close. Next fixtures are at home to Hainsworth on the 15 th May and away to Hornsea on the 23 rd May. Player Selection Players who put their names down to play in home matches with be given preference for selection at away matches. Player availability and attendance is being monitored to ensure that selections are fair. P a g e 2 of 5

AOB Punctuality at Seniors events Despite being raised at the AGM and mentioned in the recent newsletter we still appear to have issues with some people s interpretation of the registration by time at Seniors events. There were 4 late arrivals for this morning s fixture which caused a delay both to the draw being announced and people getting to the tee. Also only one of the late arrivals bothered to offer apologies to Ron for their tardiness! Summer timings are as follows: Register by - 8:00 Draw announced 8:15 1st Tee 8:30 AP May09 Steve Alger to issue reminder regarding the register by time for Seniors fixtures. P a g e 3 of 5
