Game 41: Wednesday, January 16, 2019 Kelowna Rockets vs. Moose Jaw Warriors LAST GAME Justin Almeida had two goals and four points last night to lead the Warrior to a 5-2 win over the Kamloops Blazers at Sandman Centre. Tristin Langan had a goal and two points, Dalton Hamaliuk and Daniil Stepanov scored one goal each, Josh Brook picked up two assists, and Adam Evanoff made 34 saves. Moose Jaw was 2-for-4 on the power play and 2-for-2 on the penalty kill. Road Warriors The Warriors have embarked on their season high 7-game in 14-day road trip that will see them make stops in the B.C. and Central Division. The team left January 13 th and the trip starts in Kamloops on January 15 th, they ll then make stops in Kelowna, Victoria, Vancouver, Prince George, Edmonton, and then wrap up in Medicine Hat on January 26 th. In total, the players will spend 51 hours on the bus travelling 4,629km. Langan among league leaders 20-year-old Tristin Langan is having a breakout season, he leads the Warriors with 33 goals and 71 points in 40 games which ranks 3 rd in the WHL scoring race. Langan s 33 goals rank 2 nd in the WHL and his 7 game-winning goals is tied for 2 nd in the league. Coming in to this season Langan s best season was 2017-2018 where he had 16 goals, 26 assists, and 42 points in 70 games. Tracey leading the way 17-year-old Brayden Tracey sits on top of the WHL rookie scoring race with 17 goals and 42 points in 40 games. From Calgary, Tracey was selected 21 st overall in the 1 st round at the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft, last season with the Calgary Northstars (AMHL) he had 21 goals, 31 assists, and 52 points in 30 games. Zawatsky moves east to Moose Jaw Moose Jaw acquired Broncos leading scorer Alec Zawatsky in exchange for Tyler Smithies, a 4 th round pick in 2020, and a 5 th round pick in 2021. Zawatsky comes to the Warriors with 13 goals and 26 points in 39 games. Warriors acquire Denomie Moose Jaw acquired 18-year-old forward Carson Denomie from the Kamloops Blazers Thursday for a 7 th round pick in 2019. Denomie had one goal and four points in 36 games with the Blazers this season, last year he had six goals and 19 points in 66 games. In 2016-2017 with the Regina Pat Canadians (SMAAAHL), he had 16 goals, 30 assists, and 46 points in 44 games and went on to record four goals and ten points in 11 playoffs games.
