Trip Insurance It s been said that trip insurance is never needed until it s needed. What should you know about trip insurance? You must purchase trip insurance coverage before it is needed. Once you recognize the need, it is too late to protect your trip. After the initial trip payment is made and you have a good grasp of your total expected trip cost, it is good time to get the most accurate quote. An example of coverage for a $1,500 trip within the United States for a 60-year-old is approximately $63 through www.insuremytrip.com. If you need coverage for a pre-existing medical condition, there are time-sensitive eligibility requirements tied to your initial trip payment and you may have a limited amount of time to buy a plan. Web Site www.cornhuskerski.org FIND US ON 2018-2019 CSC Membership Form The 2018-2019 membership form can be found on page 5 in this newsletter. Membership is mandatory to participate in trips organized by the Cornhusker Ski Club. A completed and signed form must be submitted with dues payable to the Cornhusker Ski Club. The board approved revisions to the Cornhusker Ski Club Trip Policies. Please take a moment to read the policies printed on the lower half of the membership form. CSC s Breakfast in the Park Breakfast in the park this year was good to last bite of food. The pictures tell the story that no one had to take home left overs. Thank you to the many members who brought food and shared with the club. Judie Svoboda, a longtime member, visited Lincoln at the perfect time. Judie and another longtime member, Jerry McAuliffe, surprised several ski club members when they arrived at the breakfast. Judie and her husband, Ward, moved to Pennsylvania 14 years ago. Ward passed away earlier this year and Judie was visiting friends and relatives in Nebraska. In 1988, Judie and Ward met skiing on a club trip to Vail and a year later, they were married at Vail during a ski club trip. Ski club members attended their ceremony complete with a flower girl (Anne Burkholder) and attendants (Gary and Sandy Vosta). Judie and Ward were very active in the club, serving on the board, trip captains and helping where they could. Becky Akert, President welcomed everybody to the breakfast and then introduced the 2018-2019 Trip Captains. Hollis Anderson, trip captain, told about the December trip to Copper Mountain, Jenny Simpson, trip captain for FSA Steamboat got us excited to join other flatlanders in January, and then Tom Becker, trip captain for the third trip the club is offering to Copper Mountain in February. Jerry McAuliffe and his wife, Nola, (now deceased), were also long time members of the club. Jerry resides in Lincoln but hasn t skied for several years. Jerry skied as often as he could while Nola was a good roomie in the 90 s. Jerry also often helped with club activities. All the members had a great time catching up with each other after so many years. We hope to see both Judie and Jerry again someday. 2

good reasons to join the Cornhusker Ski Club! Welcome to ski season 2018-19!! Snow will soon be flying and the Cornhusker Ski Club is preparing to enjoy the slopes of Colorado this upcoming season. FSA LOVE THE BOAT - STEAMBOAT SPRINGS! Steamboat continues to be one of our most popular trips. This trip is your chance to ski with Billy Kidd for free pointers and a run with Billy down Heavenly Daze. You may also want to hit the hot springs after a day of skiing.
