CENTRALIA RIFLE CLUB & JUNIOR DIVISION X - RING NEWSLETTER VOLUME 10, NUMBER 9 September 2016 NEW MEMBERS THIS MONTH We welcome the following new members to the club; Brian Davidson, Eben Haines, and Steve Hanson The range is open 24/7 except for a few special events. For example: High School rifle teams (November thru February from 3-7), during BME events (scheduled twice a year), and during Hunters Educa@on. Note: Sharing of access codes is grounds for removal from the club. When a member brings a guest, the guest must complete and sign an Indemnity Agreement. They are stored near the sign-in sheet on the small table near the door. HANDGUN SAFETY New members are required to take a Handgun Safety course, unless they have evidence of prior training. The cost for the class is $15:00 and will usually be held every month. BACKGROUND CHECKS Because the club has unsupervised shoo@ng we must ensure members are legal to possess a weapon. An applica@on fee of $25.00 will be charged to all members for a background check. The fee will be waived if the applicant has a concealed carry permit. TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES Planning con@nues for a Personal Protec@on Outside the home training class. Soon a course will be offered to train people who wish to become instructors. SCHEDULED ACTIVITIES Tuesdays 7:00pm Members Only Defensive pistol Must have completed a Handgun Satety Course. Wednesdays 7:00 pm Open to the public- Bowling Pin Shoot (See below for details) Thurdays 6:30 pm Open to the public Informal Bullseye League (See below for details) Check our website calendar for dates and @mes of other planned events. BOWLING PIN SHOOT Wednesday Night Bowling Pin Shoots begin at 7:00 pm. We hold a Bowling Pin Shoot with.22 s and when completed we begin another shoot with the higher calibers up to.45 s. Cost is $10.00 per week for either session or $15 for both sessions. BULLSEYE LEAGUE The next Bullseye League for Score will be held in February of 2017; however prac@ce sessions

are Thursday s at 6:30 pm at no charge. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES There are always opportuni@es to help; sweep, clean, or take out garbage. (See list below) Each group/person must be responsible for cleaning up aner themselves. Instructors-must have pa@ence and communica@on skills. See below list of opportuni@es. (CENTRALIA RIFLE CLUB REPAIR LIST) FUNDRAISER - PATCHES HATS AND T-SHIRTS Shirley Hendricks has the inventory. Small patches for hats and T-shirts are $5.00 Hats with small patch are $10.00 T-Shirts with small patch, are $20.00 Large Coat Patches $25.00 OLD BUSINESS LEWIS COUNTY FAIR - August 16-21 Our booth at the Lewis County Fair was very successful. Paper targets were used with the clubs pellet air rifles. Safe Shoo@ng Cer@ficates were given to the par@cipants. The Friends of NRA Founda*on Banquet, was held on September 10 ab. The Friends of NRA Founda@on provides much needed and appreciated grant funds for specific items requested in grant applica@ons. The Club has submiped four grant applica@ons this year. At the banquet there was a live auc@on, a silent auc@on, drawings, and several games to play. The food was good and everyone had a great @me. MAJOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT Work has begun on bays 7 through 12. Currently Mike is working on pulling down the 8 x12 wood beams. The ceiling will be lowered and bulletproofed, and air circula@on installed. A por@on of this project is funded through NRA Founda@on grants. $5,000 of steel has been purchased and another $5,000 has not yet been purchased. The bank will accept the Club s rifles as collateral for the loan. Brad will create a work schedule and coordinate with the electrician. The cost for the electrician will add $10 to $20 thousand dollars to the cost of the project. Daniel will email a copy of the @meline to the Club Members when it becomes available. PAINT EXTERIER OF BUILDING Pain@ng the exterior of the building is on hold. Depending on the weather, the pain@ng may be on hold un@l spring. NEW BUSINESS HIGH SCHOOL RIFLE TEAMS

High School shooters will begin shoo@ng on September 20. The range will be in use from 3:30 to 6 or 7 week days. The end of Rifle Team ac@vi@es is March 2, 2017. Check the Club Calendar online for specific details. Volunteer Opportunity Centralia and WF West Teams both need scorers. DOOR LOCK The pad on the door lock is geqng worn, numbers are no longer readable. The Board discussed a magne@c card lock system and determined that having to carry a card to unlock the door was too much trouble. The key pad numbers will be replaced. CENTRALIA RIFLE CLUB PARTIAL REPAIR LIST Chuck Neely prepared a par@al list of needed repairs and maintenance. If any of the items are within your capabili@es (proficient or just as an assistant) feel free to volunteer. 1. Replace Hot water tank cost ranges from 200 to 350 dollars. 2. Lights over range 6 and 12 need to be replaced chuck working on replacement. 3. Light switch on lane 6 needs replaced, on post half way down lane. 4. Water on floor under sink in ladies room keep an eye on. 5. Replace ramp outside door Iverson bros working on building a new ramp. 6. Water in back corner of men's room when it rains. 7. Fix concrete pad corners outside. 8. Spray killer outside around building. 9. Pin garage door chuck working will do it during ceiling replacement. 10. Pressure wash outside of building. 11. Paint outside building. 12. Replace water bib in men's room. 13. Repainted line and stops in parking lot. 14. Build CRCJD sign for outside- Chuck working 15. Build shadow box for outside front door Pat working 16. Build box for release form for inside door by sign in sheet. 17. Replace trim in classroom rt of range door. 18. Make range parking signs only. Similar to what we have now outside. 19. Fix tables in classroom some need to be tapped for screws. 20. Repair and reapach panel along wall on lane 6. ( behind carpet ) 21. Add sides and shelving on new table in range. 22. Cut old range table in half longways and add sides and shelving.
