9. QUALIFICATION Players must qualify for EC within their home country. The national disc golf organizations of each country are entirely responsible for the selection of their representatives at EDGC, providing that players qualify under the Nationality regulations below. Suggested methods of selection include qualification on a national tour (if any), at national championships, or simply nomination of players by committee. Qualified players (based on available spots by country) will be nominated by the national disc golf organization for the participation at EDGC. Players must accept the nomination for EDGC and confirm their participation by a given deadline set by their national disc golf organization. Non-qualified players may still have a chance to be nominated in a second wave, if one of the already nominated players cannot participate or additional places become available. 10. NATIONALITY A player is qualified to represent a country if he/she meets the following regulations: The player holds a valid membership of the country s disc golf organization. The player holds the passport of the specific country or is a current resident of the country for minimum 1 year. The player has been nominated by the national organization. Exceptions may be granted by EDGF to smaller countries without a national disc golf organization. 11. PDGA MEMBERSHIP An individual PDGA membership was not required in the past to participate at the EDGC. Due to the cooperation between EDGF and PDGA and the fact that the PDGA membership and its rating system has become a strong and valuable tool in the sport of disc golf, a PDGA membership is recommended. Also the PDGA membership numbers (data per country) is used for allocating the EDGC spots per country. 12. EVENT FORMAT The EDGC 2018 will be played in following format: 12.1 INDIVIDUAL ALL DIVISIONS Players field with 200 competitors. 1 (one) competitive 18-holes course. 3 rounds for all players. 50% of the players (and possible ties) in all divisions advance to the 4th round based on the scores of the first three rounds. 1 (one) round per day with staggered starts. Divisions: FPO, FPM, FJ1, MPO, MPM, MPG, MPS and MJ1 Medals (Gold, Silver, Bronze) for top-3 in all divisions. Playoffs for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each division will be used to determine the medal places. Certificate for places 4 to 6 in all divisions. Prize-money according to the PDGA regulations. (100% pay-out in EDGC 2018.) European Disc Golf Championships 2018 Country Info & Roadmap 5/7

12.2 NATIONS CUP In each division points will be distributed to the top players in each round and summed up to the total of each country. The points system will be published in June 2018 after registration has closed and final players list has been published. 12.3 NATIONAL DOUBLES A national Doubles competition will be happening and it is planned in a 3-round format on a 2nd course. Additional info on National doubles, registration procedures etc. will be available (and sent to Team captains) no later than February 1. 13. SPOTS BY COUNTRY 13.1. GENERAL RULES Extra spots for EDGC host country: 5 No wild cards. Minimum spots by country: 1 Country specific PDGA members amounts were used to allocate spots. EDGC Advisory Committee is responsible for the spots allocation process. 13.2. SPOTS ALLOCATION Due to the fact that the sizes of the countries varies from 1 up to 1.500+ players (PDGA members) it is almost impossible to create a mathematical formula to calculate an automatic distribution of the available spots in a fair way to the many countries. Also using a fixed number of participants by divisions in a multiple divisions event is impractical due to the different age-structure in the countries. The main goal is to provide a well-balanced table and enable all countries to participate with an appropriate number of athletes. The following procedure has been used to allocate the spots: The country specific PDGA membership numbers provides straight figures. A ranking list gives a good picture of the European disc golf community. Based on this list, the countries were grouped (Level 1-8). Similar sized countries grouped in the same level. Spots added manually in a way that finally all spots are distributed. Similar sized countries receive the same amount of spots. 13.3. COUNTRY SPOTS ALLOCATION EDGC 2018 According to the EDGC General Rules and the spots allocation Process the table below shows the country spots allocation table for EDGC 2018. As mentioned, all free spots after phase 1 of the registration process will be re-allocated to the waiting list by the EDGC Advisory Committee. Waiting list will be formed and published on February 6, 2018. The waiting list will be revised on May 13, 2018. European Disc Golf Championships 2018 Country Info & Roadmap 6/7
