: Media Notes 2008-09 SEASON RECAP: - The Bruins concluded their 2008-09 season with the third-best record in their history while leading the Eastern Conference with a 53-19-10 record and 116 points... They were second overall in the NHL in 2008-09 to San Jose (117 points). - They had the league's second-best home (64 points; San Jose, 68 points) and road (52 points; Detroit, 53 points) records and finished with the four-best power play at 23.6%... They scored the most goals in the Eastern Conference with 274 and were second overall in the NHL to Detroit's 295... The Bruins were the only team in the league to allow fewer than 200 goals at 196 and their +78 goal differential (for over against) was 25 points better than the next-best team in that category (San Jose, +53). 2009 PRE-SEASON: - The Bruins concluded their 2009 pre-season schedule with a 5-2-1 record...
