President s Pitch Hi all, With 2015 coming to a close, let me say it was one of the most enjoyable and testing years in our club s history. Firstly, the enjoyment came when Fletch and his second eleven brought home a much needed flag. I am sure Fletch will say the whole club was part of it. Then this season started with no clubrooms for the first 2 months, so we were all tested. May I say I think we all pulled together to make it work. Special thanks to Aaron Spackman and dare I say it, Dude s United, for their work in making it OK to be in the Seabrook Hut. Important Dates Bunnings BBQ Fundraiser: Sunday 10 th January @ Werribee Bunnings 9am 4pm Seabrook Past Players Day: Saturday 16 th January @ Bruce Comben Reserve Start Time: 4:30pm With that said, we have a lot of work to do to get our new rooms up to scratch. Now this is the most important message, KEEP IT CLEAN. So can I stress to you all that it is not just up to the committee to keep the rooms in a good condition. It is up to everybody at the club to pitch in and help. If you see something that is not right, CLEAN IT, FIX IT, or bring it to someone's attention. We all have to use and enjoy our facilities, so do not let your team mates down. As I said in the last newsletter, the club is having 3 functions in the New Year, so please do your bit if you can. On Saturday 16 th January, we are trying to get some past players down to the club to introduce them to you all, and show them our new facilities. So please hang around if you can after the day s play. Ladies/McGrath Day is yet to be set, but a date will be confirmed when we get back. So please encourage your Wife, Partner, Mother and/or Sister to come along to McGrath Day. And to finish it of course is Silver Circle Day on Saturday 27th February. If you have not got your tickets yet, see Lionel when you get back. If you cannot find Lionel, please annoy MYSELF, FRAZ, MORGS, CARROT or ANYBODY! Just get your tickets (WE NEED YOU)! Thanks for your support in 2015 and as I am sure Leigh will tell you, let s get the top 3 teams in the finals. My boys on Sunday are struggling a bit, but we are enjoying each other s company and we are also getting some good performances from the youngsters. Hopefully I am teaching them a few things.

See you all in 2016 Your President, - Frank Henry (Teddy) Past Players Day Date: Saturday 16 th January Time: 4:30pm Location: Bruce Comben Reserve To celebrate the opening of the new rooms, the club will kick off its Social Function Calendar by hosting a Past Players Days. The 1 st XI and 3rd XI will be playing at home on the day, and therefore it will be a great chance for our current players to meet some of the past characters of our club. As contact details for some of our former players have changed over time, I encourage you to get the word out to the former players that you are still in contact with it. The more players we can get down to attend the day, the better it will be. There will be a happy hour for our guests and raffles throughout the night (maybe a Fletch memorabilia or two). Finger food and a BBQ will be organised for the evening. I encourage all of you to attend so that we can make it an awesome evening. Bunnings BBQ Fundraiser Date: Sunday 10 th January Time: 9am to 4pm Location: Bunnings Werribee, 55 Cherry St, Werribee The club will be holding a sausage sizzle fundraiser at Bunnings Werribee on Sunday 10th January. The store is on 55 Cherry St, near the railway crossing. We will require volunteers throughout the day, so if you're available and willing to help, please come down on the day. Even if it is for just one or two hours, your help would be greatly appreciated. Moral support and buying snags also count, especially you blokes who live in the area. Plus it s a great location for a recovery session with a good bunch of blokes and girls. We will be set up at Bunnings Werribee between 9am and 4pm. Please come down and help the club raise some money! Player Subscriptions The subscriptions fees for this season are: Seniors: $300 Seniors Concession: $200 Juniors: $100 Milo in2cricket: $75 Senior cricketers will receive a club playing shirt when they have made a payment towards their subscription fees. If you have yet to make a payment towards your subscription fees, it is important that you do ASAP. The last thing you want is to be dropped or miss out on selection, because you have yet to make a deposit on your player subscriptions. Therefore please see Peter Mark Fraczek to make a payment towards your player subscription fees.

Junior cricketers will receive a club playing shirt and cap as part of their payment towards the subscription fees. If you have yet to make a payment towards your junior subscriptions, please see Lionel Thomas or Bill Sheahan to make a payment. Those of you who wish to pay the player subscription fees via EFT, can do so by transferring the money into the following bank account: Account Name: Seabrook Cricket Club Inc. BSB: 633-000 Account Number: 131793655 Please narrate your name in the description, so we aware of who has made a payment. Senior Training Sessions Training sessions will resume on Thursday 7 th January, starting at 5:30pm, at Bruce Comben Reserve. Junior Training Sessions Training sessions will resume on Thursday 14 th January, starting at 5pm, at Bruce Comben Reserve Milo in2cricket Sessions Milo in 2 Cricket Sessions will resume on Saturday 16 th January, starting at 10am, at Bruce Comben Reserve. Coach s Corner The first half of the season has come and gone fast, and the serious time of the season is upon us. With all the Saturday teams in good positions, our club is looking strong and have a big chance of getting all three sides into finals. The Sunday team is struggling with consistency. The same individuals are playing each week but they are learning a lot from their experiences on turf wickets. We have had some great individual performance so far this season. Frazer Wilson made a brilliant 168, James (Doc) Campbell made a century and took a five wicket haul in the same game, and Tom Flynn took his first five wicket haul for the club. It has been fantastic to see all the young players doing so well, with the likes of James Mallia, Zach Wilson and Jaimin Rajguru standing up when called upon by their captains. Furthermore, it has been great to see some players moving up through the grades on the back of good performances, with the likes of Truman Faghiura, Ash Gardner, and Stephen Morgan being rewarded for their form with the bat. Keep up the good work lads! With 5 games to go, we need everyone on board! Everyone needs to train hard and perform well. The club has a massive chance to do something special this year, and let's make sure we are all working towards the same goal.

Training will start back on Thursday 7 th January. See you all there! Cheers! - Leigh Edwards Current Senior Cricket Standings 1 st XI: 4 th in VTCA West B1 2 nd XI: 6 th in VTCA West B2 3 rd XI: 4 th in WDCA B Matting 4 th XI: 9 th in VTCA North / West D2 Honourable Mentions Batting: Frazer Wilson: 168 vs Gellibrand (WDCA B Matting, Round 7) Seniors Upcoming Fixture Saturday 9 th January VTCA West B1: 1 st XI vs West Newport @ Loft Reserve (1pm Start) VTCA West B2: 2 nd XI vs West Newport @ Bruce Comben Reserve (1pm Start) Saturday 16 th January VTCA West B1: 1 st XI vs Deer Park @ Bruce Comben Reserve (1pm Start) VTCA West B2: 2 nd XI vs Deer Park @ John McLeod Oval (1pm Start) Saturday 16 th January and 23 rd January WDCA B-Matting: 3 rd XI vs Williamstown Colts @ Bruce Comben Reserve (1:30pm Start) Sunday 17 th January VTCA North/West D2: 4 th XI vs Hoppers Crossing @ Hogans Rd Reserve No.2 (12pm Start) Senior Match Fees: Seniors: $15 Juniors (from a different club): $10 Juniors: $5 Juniors Update Our Junior sides head into the Christmas break in a strong position, with both sides still a chance to play finals this season. The chemistry among our juniors with Altona and Gellibrand s juniors has been great so far, and hopefully this leads to more positive results for both sides. Thank you to the parents and the juniors that came to the Christmas break up dinner after the final training session for the year. We hope you enjoyed the pizzas and soft drinks provided. It was great to have a chat with you all, as I ve been unable to be there on Saturdays unfortunately.

The Under 17s are currently 5 th on the ladder, so hopefully Seabrook s juniors continue to enjoy playing their junior cricket alongside Altona s juniors. Well done to Daniel Battochio, who has been captaining the Under 17s in the last few games. Furthermore, well done to Ash Gardner, who has been selected in Altona s A side in the past couple of games. Bernie has done a terrific job coaching the Under 15s, with the side sitting 5 th on the ladder. The boys are playing well with Gellibrand s Juniors, which has seen some terrific results so far. Hopefully they continue their performances in the second half of the season, as it should see them play finals cricket. Well done to the Juniors who have been selected in the Senior sides so far this season. Hopefully we continue to see our Juniors get more opportunities to play Senior cricket after Christmas. Training for the Juniors will resume on Thursday 14 th January at Bruce Comben Reserve, starting at 5pm. Matches resume on Saturday 16 th January, at 8:30am. Please remember to arrive at the ground 30 minutes before the start of the match. If you are unable to attend training or are unavailable for a game, please let Bernie or myself know. Finally, I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I hope your Christmas Day is filled with presents, food, laughter and fun. Please stay safe during the Christmas break (and don t be too much of a hassle for your parents), and I look forward to seeing you all in 2016! - Lionel Thomas (Junior Coordinator) Current Junior Cricket Standings Under 17s (Seabrook/ Altona): 5 th in WRJCA Under 17 ½ B South Under 15s (Seabrook/ Gellibrand): 5 th in WRJCA Under 15 C South Juniors Upcoming Fixture Saturday 16 th January Under 17 ½ B South: Seabrook/Altona vs Hoppers Crossing @ Wootten Rd, Ground 2 (8:30am Start) Under 15 C South: Seabrook/Gellibrand vs Hoppers Crossing @ Bruce Comben Reserve (8:30am Start)

Milo in2cricket Update The club is half way through its Milo in2cricket program, and it has been great to see the kids and parents get involved. We hope your kids have enjoyed the activities we have organised for them so far. The activities aim to provide the kids with the essential skills required to play cricket. Thank you to the parents and volunteers who have provided their support and help to us. We hope you enjoyed the BBQ Breakfast at our last Milo in2cricket session for the year. The program will resume from Saturday 16 th January, at 10am. Reminders will be sent out via email and SMS. The club is always looking for more participants to join our Milo in2cricket program. It s not too late to register and our sessions are obligation free. Please visit our website and follow the links if you are interested in registering your child with us. We hope you have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Stay safe during the Christmas break and we will see you in 2016! - Peter and Sheree Fraczek (Milo in2cricket Coordinators) Stay Connected Website: http://seabrook.vic.cricket.com.au/ Facebook: Seabrook Cricket Club
