Fill The Jar for United Way September & October 2018 Each club has been asked to collect change that will be donated to United Way. As a county-wide One Day 4-H Project, clubs will collect change at their club meeting during the months of September & October and return to the Extension office by the end of October. Livestock Judging Practice Dates September 13, 2018-6:00 p.m. at the Extension Office October 1, 2018-6:00 p.m. at the Extension Office * A few more practices in October will be announced at a later date. ** The District 4-H Livestock Judging Contest is tentatively set for November 7, 2018 in Vernon. We will also have a Livestock Skillathon Workshop on November 13, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at the Extension office in Palo Pinto. This contest consists of breeds of livestock, livestock equipment I.D., a wool judging class and meats judging classes. We will hand out a study guide or pdf files for kids to study. ***All kids will have to be enrolled in 4-H connect prior to participating. If you would like to volunteer to help raise money during the Paper Clover campaign, please call the Extension Office at 940-659-1228 Tractor Supply Paper Clover Campaign Tractor Supply stores in communities across the country have long supported 4-H clubs, and now, Tractor Supply Co. has entered into an official partnership with the National 4-H Council as your source for 4-H project supplies. This means that Tractor Supply will help raise money for county 4-H programs, as with the Paper Clover Campaign, a national in-store fundraiser that benefits state and local 4-H programming. Our Mineral Wells Tractor Supply store does a great job of supporting our Palo Pinto County 4-H Clubs. Members have an opportunity to participate in the Paper Clover Campaign each fall and spring. National 4-H Week - October 7-13, 2018 This week is set aside to 4-H members to engage in activities that promote 4-H in their communities. Judging will include livestock projects, Ag. mechanics and horticulture projects. The livestock premium sale will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019. Additional Information All animals that will be shown at the County Show are required to attend validation on the dates above or they will not be allowed to show. All exhibitors must be a regularly enrolled member of a 4-H and/or FFA member in Palo Pinto County to be eligible to show. That means that your dues have been paid for the current year, and you have active member status. Exhibitors who are validating their animals for Major Shows (Ft.
