Committee Oliver Corrigan, Joey Neary, Gerry Kinahan, Simon Fagan, Jim Hoey, Brendan Neary, Linus English, Martin Byrne, Aine Grimes, Enda McKeown, Stephen Quigley, Tony Agnew. At this point I would like to present to you the affairs of Naomh Seosamh CLG for the year. Football Review Senior Football 2011 saw the club appoint Alan McKenna as manager for the playing season with Jason Hoey, David Reilly as selectors and Jim Matthews as team coach Sheelan Cup This competition, between senior and intermediate teams, now made up of three groups of eight, commenced on the 20 th February with a win against Sean O Mahonys, this was a group however that senior clubs held sway but the Joes were competitive with some narrow loses against the senior clubs eventually recording three wins. Division Two League A 2010 relegated Joes league team found themselves competing in division 2 for the first time in over twenty years. The league programme kicked off with an early start against newly promoted St Fechins on the 5 th March, an effective performance seen the Joes get off to a winning start, this was followed up with a loss to the Clans but with victories against the Mochtas, Gaels and Roche Emmets this left the Joes at the business end of the league, a disappointing loss to Gers and Marys followed this though, but the Joes finished with three wins from four to finish fourth and qualify for promotion play off against Dundalk Gaels, this game played on the 9 th September proved to be the final game of the year as a weakened Joes team lost out to an impressive Dundalk Gaels. League table for Division 2 Team Played Won Lost Drawn For Against Diff O Raghallaighs 11 8 1 2 167 121 46 18 Geraldines 11 8 2 1 167 119 48 17 St Marys 11 7 3 1 159 137 22 15 St Josephs 11 7 4 0 179 157 22 14 Dundalk Gaels 11 7 4 0 131 124 7 14 St Mochtas 11 5 4 2 160 150 10 12 Clan Na Gael 11 4 4 3 148 148 0 11 St Fechins 11 4 5 2 147 145 2 10 Na Piarsaigh 11 4 5 2 121 141-20 10 Roche Emmets 11 3 8 0 133 174-41 6 Naomh Malachi 11 2 8 1 121 152-31 5 Dundalk Young Irelands 11 0 11 0 113 178-65 0. INTERMEDIATE CHAMPIONSHIP O Connells provided our first game in a tough group, but it is fair to say the Joes failed to show up with much competitive spirit and quickly found themselves nine points in arrears, this was sufficient combined with a number of injuries to keep the Joes at arm s length throughout. Next up Oliver Plummets, the Joes this time arrived with the necessary championship bite and with the aid of two goals prevailed to a deserved victory. This victory qualified us to meet the league champions O Raghalighs in the quarter finals, played at Ardee, a subdued performance from the Joes didn t really ask sufficient questions of the opposition who were also not at their best either, a late fifteen minute spell from the opposition was sufficient to record this victory put them on their way to winning the championship out right.

Conclusion: After the 2011 playing season, where we have competed entirely against intermediate teams in the two primary competitions, we now have a clearer view of our standing, It is great to see additional new faces make their adult debuts, and our strength in available numbers will be a real asset going forward, but the transition of these young players still presents the club with our greatest challenge, the club as always will continue to provide first class facilities and resources, but the players themselves must take individual responsibility, for their career development, not all these players will have a long career in adult football, but those that physically condition themselves for the pace and strength of adult football, will have a clear advantage. The incoming management also have an important role to play with individual player development also and I encourage them, to provide the necessary one to one advice that this young group need. I now look forward to the new playing season and to watch these young men develop. JUNIOR FOOTBALL Managed by the senior management along with Stephen Quigley and David O Donoghue, this team continue to get stronger with each year, this year finishing Just outside the top four in the league, I expect to see some silverware in this Most important of junior competition in the next few years. In the remaining junior competitions, the championship we were beaten by Dreadnots and in the shield competition we beat St Brides in the final. Team Cooley Kickhams A Played Won Lost Drawn For Against Diff 9 7 1 1 152 80 72 15 St Patricks A 9 7 1 1 153 103 50 15 Clan Na Gael 9 6 3 0 125 122 3 12 St Fechins 9 5 2 2 121 121 0 12 St Josephs 9 5 3 1 136 137-1 11 St Marys 9 4 4 1 130 116 14 9 Newtown Blues 9 3 6 0 138 140-2 6 Mattock Rangers 9 2 7 0 120 172-52 4 St Brides 9 1 7 1 113 147-34 3 Dundalk Gaels 9 1 7 1 104 154-50 3

UNDER 21 November 2011 saw the commencement of this championship, the first round saw us pitted against our neighbours O,Connells Stabbanon combination, we proved too strong from the start for the opposition, next up was again another close neighbour 2011 minor champions St Brides, this time however we were alarmingly over run by a much younger team, and thus exited the competition. Mentors: Alan McKenna, Jason Hoey, David Reilly. Under 18 A difficult act to follow, would describe this year s minor s prospects, but none the less 2011 proved a satisfactory year from this year s panel, competing in division three they went unbeaten in the league section and reached the league final were they lost out narrowly to the Finbars/Kevins Combination. In the championship they recorded a fine opening win against Na Parsaigh, but then lost out unfortunately to the Dundalk Gaels. Mentors: Johnny McGailey, Mark Drumgoole, Gerry Gorham. OG SPORT It cannot be underestimated the amount of work being done at this level by Pat Coyne and his flock of mentors, and it augurs well for the future of the club with the quality of the work being, the attention to detail, the number of coaches being enlisted and the fun and success the kids are enjoying. This body of workers were rightly honoured in 2011 with winning the Hugh o Hare award for the first time. Please see comprehensive annual og sport review under the juvenile AGM section in the December News.

Off Field Review Fund Raising Again our revenue stream was generated from varied sources, the first few Euros into the coffers came from Michael Kinahan and his work with his annual prediction game Last Man Standing. The month of March saw the club host a strictly come dancing event, after many weeks of work and dance practice, this night proved to a special occasion and worthwhile fundraiser, many thanks to all who contributed but a most special thank you must go to the dancers, whose hard work, ticket sales, and general good fun was greatly appreciated. Our Euro millions finished in the month of May, many thanks to Kevin Kerr for his contribution to that, though the joint venture Louth GAA draw in the summer months had a disappointing return from our ticket sales, The community centre continues to be a much used resource again many thanks to the Committee for doing such a fine job and maintaining the premises in such a good state and their financial contribution to the overall running of the club is greatly appreciated. The bar even in difficult trading times, continues to be a pleasant retreat for many of our members and supporters, and absorbs many overheads on behalf of the club, thank you again to bar committee and Tony & Debbie for their total commitment. October saw the start of the traditional 2 lotto, sales to-date have been modest, we will need to really work hard at this in 2012, as this will need to generate most of our revenue. Buildings, Field & Development. No real expenditure in this area in 2011, but the continued good work of the fas workers can be clearly seen. Conclusion There was no one stand out moment in 2011, but more steady good work at all levels of the club, leaves the club in good stead going forward. These difficult economic times have affected us all, and this club is no different, we will have to pay much more attention to cost control in the coming years as we simply do not have the funds of previous years. In 2011 saw us celebrate our 50 th year in existence, a milestone which has left this club with some great memories, ex footballers, some great club people & personalities and a club with first class facilities and a style of football only to be admired, we should be rightfully proud of our heritage and our club. The celebrations to commemorate those 50 th years on the October bank Holiday weekend captured that sentiment very well, and many thanks again to everybody who helped out with particular thanks to Michael Kinahan, and the work he did with the history night in particular. Other highlights throughout the year included another successful La na gclub and Alan Lynch winning minor player of the year 2010. Finally I would like to wish everybody a happy new year, and our players a successful and injury free playing season. Is Mise Leas Meas Sean O Shionnaigh RUNAI
