Riding Changes: Race 1: A Gibbons replaced C O Brien (ill) Race 3: G Buckley replaced M Squires (personal reasons) M Bell replaced C O Brien Race 1: Maiden Plate 1280m Counterfeited slow to begin, then was momentarily crowded passing the 600m. Midi slow to begin. Commander Bell hung in when placed under pressure at the entrance to the home straight. Mo Tastic trainer Mrs. N Hudson said that the mare would be retired. Notwithstanding this advice, Mrs. Hudson was told that prior to racing again, Mo Tastic would be required to perform competitively in an official barrier trial. Race 2: Maiden Handicap 1450m James Richard over raced for some distance after being crowded passing the 1200m. More Than A Horse began awkwardly and shifted out abruptly. When questioned K Jennings explained that he had intended to obtain a position forward of midfield in the early stages, however after the start he elected to obtain cover where the gelding was comfortable at the rear of the field. He added that More Than A Horse travelled well and responded strongly when it obtained clear running in the home straight and had it not been
disadvantaged at the start it would have been even more prominent in the finish. Mended missed the start (2L). Schemer slow to begin, then was held up during the early part of the home straight. Tessa Burrito was bumped and became unbalanced at the start. Augusta In April hung out when racing wide in the early and middle stages. Kingston Heath had to be steadied when crowded passing the 1200m. Race 3: Maiden Plate 900m Little Archie slow to begin, then raced greenly when placed under pressure in the home straight. Mypostergirl raced greenly when placed under pressure in the home straight. Glamour Factor began awkwardly and shifted out abruptly. On The Floor slow to begin. Teenage Tale hampered at the start. Invincible Kiss sustained an injury in the tie up stalls when being saddled and was scratched on veterinary advice at 2.02pm. Race 4: Benchmark 66 Handicap 1280m Smith B Looker, the rider of Neretva pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding (AR131a), in that he did engage in careless riding, when he
allowed his mount to shift in approaching the 1100m, when insufficiently clear of New Endeavour, which had to be steadied and was carried into the path of Roman Typhoon, which when racing ungenerously, was crowded onto Smith, which was crowded onto the running rail and had to be checked. Taking into account the contribution of the waywardness of Roman Typhoon to the incident, B Looker s license to ride in races was suspended for a period to commence 11/3/19 and expire 16/3/19, on which day he may ride. Smith then hung out rounding the 1000m turn and raced ungenerously for some distance. Roman Typhoon B El-lssa was reprimanded (AR131d), for excessively slowing the speed inside the 1000m, resulting in Roman Typhoon having to be checked for some distance. In issuing reprimand consideration was given to the ungenerous nature of the racing manners of Roman Typhoon. Then hung in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Hoges reared at the start and lost ground (2L). A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. Trainer Mr. J Ramsay said that Hoges would be spelled. Race 5: Benchmark 58 Handicap 1750m Daquiri Lass was fractious in the barrier, lunged at the front gates when the start was affected and was unbalanced. O Just Saying raced wide throughout. Yakety Yak had to be checked when pulling hard passing the 1500m. Yulong Baohu missed the start (2L). Tonna Power slow to begin. Race 6: Class 1 Handicap 1500m Foxy s Foxinator blundered at the start. Chiang Mai Express began awkwardly and raced fiercely in the early stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare was having an episode of thumps. Rock Em Sock Em missed the start (2L), then was hampered and carried slightly wider passing the 100m. Blazing Issue slow to begin.
Race 7: Class 1 Handicap 1280m Single Intent was bumped heavily at the start. Whitty Woman missed the start (2L). Annie Saturday slow to begin, then had to be steadied when momentarily crowded passing the 1000m. Arrossire began awkwardly and shifted out abruptly. Race 8: Benchmark 58 Handicap 900m Yeoman was scratched to avoid unreasonable delay at 5.17pm, due to the gelding being presented at the mounting yard in work shoes. Trainer Mrs. N Hudson was fined $200 (AR106(1)). Cheers Joyce began awkwardly and shifted in abruptly. Born In Barcelona slow to begin. Miss Gigi when examined by the club s veterinary officer at the start was found to be 2/5 lame in the near fore leg and scratched at 5.27pm.
