JUNE 15 Newsletter Page 2 P R E S I D E N T S M E S S A G E I want to thank the MWGA for their hard work in making the replacement of the 6 th fairway restrooms and office more of a reality than it was even a month ago. While the planning took place over several months, in one day the MWGA raised $12,500 that has now grown to $13,000. This was also made possible with contributions from Metro Appliances and More, Ben E Keith, Sysco, Morgan Vallero, our membership including the 13 th Ponders, Cary, Bill, Jason, Wayne and their folks. Again, I want to extend a sincere thank you to Debbie Pipkin, Wanda Jett, Sandy Lessenberry and Sandy Carpenter for serving on the Fund committee and for making a successful AND fun day for everyone. I also want to thank David Parks and the MGA for their behind the scenes contributions. The MGA has committed to providing sand for our bunkers and the repair or replacement of our irrigation pump, which we have not needed lately but we will. While not as pretty as our MWGA, the MGA has been a strong contributor to MCC for many years. Without a question this has been one of the wettest springs experienced in several years. Jason and his staff have done a great job in taking care of the course under difficult conditions. The weather has also delayed the city work on number 2. Jason has been diligent in trying to push it along and it appears the work should be close to finished. Teresa Harrod has continued to work hard in growing our membership numbers. We have over 40 new members, many in the JR classification. Lets not only make our new members feel welcome but thank Teresa for her hard work. Happy Hour Tues. Fri 5-7pm 10% Off Drinks Tues. Night Family Night Kids Eat Free w/ Adult Entrée To our membership, as always thank you! Steve Hillis President F RO M YO U R C L U B H O U S E M A N A G E R I ve never been so ready for summer to get here! Now that we have left the wet months behind (I hope) we can enjoy the outdoors on the course and around the pool. Please come in the house afterwards to enjoy lunch or dinner, or just relax with a cold beverage and visit with your friends. Is it me or is anyone else noticing a ton of new faces around? One of the best parts of my job here at the club is watching our membership meet the new members for the first time. Don t think I don t notice! Our membership is the greatest group of people around. I see instant friendships and that s really cool. Make sure you come to the Meet and Greet this month and get to know more about these new members and their families. Please keep checking your emails for more events through the month that we will plan to add to the already scheduled events on the calendar. Enjoy the summer everyone at the MCC!
