THE RAGING BULL Season 2013 Volume 8 Great Achievement to a Great Day. A great team performance by Triepys Troopers against Bonbeach at the Bullpit on Saturday. Running out winners by 31 points in wet and windy conditions to claim their 2 nd win of the year and no doubt in the mind of anyone they aren t done yet. As a part of this great team win. Grant Paxton, Under 18s and senior player, was awarded the Spirit of Sport Award by Victoria Police as a part of their Blue Ribbon Foundations promotion of sportsmanship and fairness across all sports. Grant has continued to show his passion and talent for football competing at Senior grade and in the Vic Country Championships for Peninsula. Congratulations Packo!

After a strong performance across the board last weekend at the Bullpit against Bonbeach. It s time to focus on the big challenge that lies ahead for all teams. Seaford Football & Netball Club. It has been a while since the senior football side has won at Seaford and this week they will be looking at stopping the trend, while the reserves attempt to make it 5 in a row and the 18 s looking to go back to back wins. Can the girls on the court continue on their winning way? And keep pushing the competition. This weekend is set to be a big one for Bulls players, officials and supporters. The Week in Review Round 8 vs Bonbeach FNC A good day on field as the footballers won 2 out of 3. The under 18s recording their second win of the season after some really hard work on the track. While the reserves made it 4 in a row. Will the streak ever end? The seniors were beaten by a very good and competitive Bonbeach side but will be ready to bounce back against Seaford on the weekend. Wet conditions on court for the girls. This didn t stop them. Claiming all the 3 wins in quite reasonable fashion. The girls are genuinely playing some good netball and is pleasing to watch. Hopefully more wins come out by the girls on Thursday against Seaford.

Football report 2013 Senior Coach Report Brendan Dunne This week we had Bonbeach and with both sides on the same points it was disappointing for us to put in a performance like we did. Bonbeach all day continued to show us what two way running is all about and pushed back in defence and spread forward better than any other team. For us we got caught running only offensively and were not willing to push back defensively and it really showed up when we turned the ball over. It wasn't a great day at all and with half the side in the end did not contribute category at the end of the game it's hard to find some positives. I thought that Eames pushed hard all day and worked his butt off as an undersized CHF and I thought that Andy in his first game showed some promise. Moving on from here it is important to realize that we are still fifth on the ladder and need to get on with it if we don't bring defensive pressure we are no good but when get it right we can beat anyone, we must move on now and concentrate on trying to consolidate a finals spot. Cheers Dunney

Reserves Pete Jordan No Report this week.

U18s Report Michael Triep Today the boys had set themselves for a big game against Bonbeach after the week off. In difficult conditions our focus was to play hard contested footy and stick to our game plan regardless of the weather. We started the first with good tempo winning inside footy and getting clean hands to the wide receivers which was pleasing although our kicking forward of centre was lacking abit of direction. We battled thru the quarter with a 1 goal lead. We have put a huge focus on playing controlled possession footy when we have the ball and going into the second we did exactly that. We dominated from the centre clearances with dirty giving us first use and Uther and Bennett getting in and under, with the silk of Packo and Clements delivering into the forward line we took over the contest to kick 5 goals clear at the half. Raga was again big for us up forward until being concussed late in the 3rd but Hinde then took up the slack and kicked 2 important goals to extend the break. The poise of Sharpe down back matched with Burnetts pressure and tackling skills repelled plenty of attacks and the class of young Simmo and Kelly around the ground was a peek to the future with Ashwood and Chris Matthews totally dominating their wings made for a timely victory. Very happy for the boys who always work hard at training and again the improvement is great reward. I'm confident the team has plenty more wins in them for the second half of the year.

Racism, It Stops with Me! Everyone would remember the incident between Adam Goodes and the 13 year old Collingwood supporter at the beginning of the AFL Indigenous Round. Furthermore, would remember the comments made by Collingwood President Eddie McGuire only just two weeks ago. Racism, has not just been involved in Australian Rules football, but in sports across the world. Especially in sports where international players are a part of clubs. The Karingal Football & Netball Club takes a zero tolerance towards racially abusing or vilifying of a player, official or supporter based on gender, race or religion. Without these three components of a club and league, there would be no football to watch and there would be no talent from local level. Football is about having fun and enjoying getting together on a Saturday and playing with your mates, against your mates and meet new mates along the way regardless of who they are or what they believe in. So whether you are Indigenous, a person from another culture or religion or you are just a regular Australian. No-one should EVER be subject to racial abuse in Australian football and this needs to be stamped out of our game!

CLUB 44 - Honouring Justin Groves Club 44 was struck in honor of the memory of Justin Groves, a player who tragically passed away in his twenties. Justin was a passionate Karingal person who wore his heart on his sleeve and it is hoped that members of Club 44 share the passion and desire for success that Justin possessed not only for Karingal but in life. The Groves family has had an association with Karingal for over 30 years and those who have witnessed Justin s father and brother David and Paul supporting the club will understand how much victory would have meant to Justin. The number 44 is symbolic because this is the number Justin wore in all of his games for Karingal. Club 44 retains an element of exclusivity because of its limited with the Club 44 insignia printed on them. In 2004 the Groves family struck an annual award to be given at each Presentation Night. The Club 44 award is given to the player exhibiting the qualities that Justin displayed throughout his career. Courage to perform under adversity, Determination to succeed against stronger opposition and Tenacity to persist until the result is achieved. In addition to a trophy the winner can elect to wear jumper number 44 in the following season, his family feels truly touched by the warmth with which this club has been accepted. Even with Justin s passing he continues to have an emotional and tangible influence on the success of the Karingal Football Club CLUB 44 Winners: 2004 Ben Gothard 2005 David Measham 2006 Matt Jakobi 2007 Justin Peckett 2008 Steve Charalambous 2009 Robbie Clements 2010 Justin Farrelly 2011 Bevan Malloy 2012 Troy Hoad 2013 Package: $250 Paid by Round 1 (Club 44 Day), otherwise $275 Club Membership Entry to All Home Games Insider Email Regular updates straight from the coach. 4 Guest passes To allow people entry to game & half time as required C44 Corporate Hat Supplied by Blue Gum Clothing $80 Voucher To be used for drinks, merchandise or Pre Season Lunch / Seafood Lunch Tickets 1/2 Time Functions In Rooms for games @ Showtime Attractions Park Club 44 Day Beer, Wine & Soft Drink Round 2 April 13th V Langwarrin 12 pm Onwards.

NETBALL REPORT: Wet & Slippery conditions at the Bull Pit this week saw much slower matches as the girls adapted to the conditions, it's not fun to go sliding on wet asphalt as a couple of girls from both sides unfortunately did, but we adapted much quicker than our opposition & it showed. Massive thanks to the C girls who were at the club by 8am ready to put up the marquee's & set up for the day. They are also playing great netball as a team & are a pleasure to watch and came away with another win sitting them in 4th spot on the ladder, B grade were left with no sub to start off as the game time change for photos left one girl unable to get there but lucky Amy was around as Anna unfortunately hit the deck hard & needed to come off to recover, Miss Emma was slipping & sliding all over the place & was lucky to come away unscathed, but the girls played one of the better games I've seen them play all year & it was good to get another win on the board, A grade has gelled well & play good netball but the conditions were also not good to them & as we had Bonbeach umpiring the whole game due to us being unable to get an Umpire it was always going to be a little tougher, we had our first send-off which in our Code of conduct is going to cost this particular player $10, as with all sport as much as Umpires can make good & bad decisions without them we have no game. Lucky day for us with 3 great wins at home in the wet. Next week we play Seaford on Thursday night @ Jubilee Park so if your free pop down & support the girls games start at 6.15 Go Bullette's Karingal Football Netball Club BULLETTES again proudly Sponsored by RAMS HOME LOANS FRANKSTON Thank you to Jamie Bartling again for his amazing Support.
